Hello,

My first Mac (Imac 20'') is coming tomorrow. I am totally newby with Mac, I do not know how the things works...yet! :)

1) I need a Mac Office 2008. It has 3 licenses, right? A friend bought it and he's been using 2 licenses. He wants to sell me the another license for a good price. Will it work normally?

2) At home I use a router Linksys WRT54G to connect my network wireless with my PC. I configure the mac address in the router to allow the computers to enter in my network. Is it possible to do it with my Imac? Will it recognize my network? Where I can find the mac address of my Imac?

Best wishes!

The three licenses for Office 2008 Home/Student are for use by members of the same family/household... legally, he cannot sell it to you and you cannot buy it.

Yes, the Mac will recognize the wireless network, and yes, you can program the Mac's MAC address into it. You can get the wifi MAC address by going to system preferences -> network -> airport and read it from there.

Thank you mkrishnan.

Yep, I think it is not legally. But it will work, right?

That'll be the cue to end this thread. Don't solicit help pirating on Macrumors.
