hi, have a look at that :
Thank you for choosing T-Mobile. A T-Mobile Sales Adviser will be with you shortly.
You are now connected with Elle.
Elle: Hello, my name is Elle, I am a T-Mobile Sales Representative and I specialise in helping customers choose the right products.
Elle: How can I help you order today?
You: im considering g1 and iphone , why g1 is better ?
Elle: Sure -
Elle: The G1 has some great advantages over the iphone, the best being the cost - Free on our Flext plan, with free unlimited web access!
You: i dont really care
You: about money
Elle: Okay - well it's a new platform, that is open to application development by ANY developer, and applications are avail for free - apple does't allow that...
Elle: It's a google based phone, so you have access to all of gooles great progammes and support
You: apple just moderates the content of app store and i have heard that android market is full of low quality apps , what are the google aps available for g1 not on iphone ?
Elle: I don't have a list - the quality and content of apps will be restricted by Apple
Elle: But thats just one aspect - as for useability, the G1 is a hands down winner
You: why ?
Elle: It's ease of use, it's full keyboard, it's sensitivity to touch, and it's home screens...
You: hmm, i dont think iphone is more difficult to use or the screen is less sensitive as to the keyboard u are right
You: any way im using os x will it work with g1 ?
Elle: Sure - it comes down to personal preference - no, os x won't work with the G1... as a restricted Apple app
You: i can see you got no clue what you are talking about, thats fine. just for your further reference OS x is an operating system not an apple app. so will g1 work with Mac computer ?
Elle: It's an Apple operating system -0 the G1 doen't support other operating systems - Google is it's operating system
Elle: It will connect to a Mac, yes
You: you make me laugh, really. by operating system i meant the operating system on your computer no on actual mobile.
You: well, let me put it this way. i guess you would not probably convince a person like me cos the argument you used are not true and only person without any knowledge of iphone would believe you.
You: i guess you should do some more research to become more efficient :D
Elle: It sounds like you already have your mind made up, so i'm unlikely to be able to convince you anyway...
You: btw, im gonna put it up on few forums just to make people laugh, do u mind ?
Elle: go nuts

Out of courtesy I would remove her name from your post. You asked her to sell you the G1, she did what you asked and was polite in her responses, the least you could do is grant her privacy.

What is the point of taunting a sales representative for cheap laughs? I hope she gets a Christmas bonus.

Sorry, you come across as a patronising troll while she comes across as surprisingly patient and polite. I'd have told you to take a hike (less politely than that!) about halfway through that lot.

this chat just shows lack of competencies of the sales person , to be honest with you lads i would not like to be ADVISED by this person. the info she provided isnt necessarily true and her arguments too general and could be stated about each device.
as to the name i guess is not real anyway.

Why would a sales person give you a fake name? They are trying to gain your confidence to sell you something.

Fanboy.
What was the point of this? Did you actually go out of your way to record the conversation?
Embarrassing...

It's not that people are no fun its the fact that the original post was quite pointless. If the sales representative made gross over statements of the G1 or iPhone then maybe it would be worthy of a laugh or too but when she answered the questions professionally and courteously then there is nothing 'fun' about the post.

agreed, it just adds fuel to the fire about the mac community.
i love my mac laptops and desktops but the fanboys really do make it hard.
I HATE how apple are neglecting everything and just concentrating on iPhones, check out the stores, they have NO speakers anymore unless they are iPod docks, hmmm so what about if i want speakers for my laptop? way to go apple.

Yep, the OP is definitely the arrogant jerk here. The representative was just trying to do her job and doesn't spend the whole day on technology forums.
The next time someone is rude to you Cudo remember the crap you gave this person.
This is the type of stunt that some kid in his early teens would do to try and prove a point -- and you certainly did -- though not the one you intended.

Having experienced customer and tech care for T-Mobile, I don't think the rep minded one bit the arrogance of the OP, she probably goes through retards like the OP every single day. Thinking you got away and made her look stupid on a forums, she probably was laughing at you after the convo. Check out phonescoop, the shoptalk forums, read some of the stories with custies.

The sales rep was just trying to do there job. All though she was not well prepared, she did the best she could with the info that she had. Is there any real need to pick on someone that is just trying to do there job?

She hit the nail on the head. I wish the OP would take a long walk off a short pier . . . .

Why did you even call T-Mobile? By reading you responses, it seemed like you already had all the answers to you questions. It seems like it wouldn't have even mattered what she said because you entered the conversation with the close-minded bias that the iPhone is better. She really had no chance. I applaud her for taking the high road with her answers, at least she didn't come off as an a55 hole like you. Great, you wasted a portion of your day just to taunt a poor sales girl. A55 hole.

I would say congratulations to the t-mobile advisor for dealing with you in a polite manor and answering your questions
It does remind me of the type of prank Bart Simpson would do
Love to hear the conversation in the call centre after you hung up, would have been alot funnier than your chat

Wow. I wouldn't have even found that funny as a 12 year old. The rest of what I'd like to say I'll save, due to forum rules.
And by the way - statements like this:
You: btw, im gonna put it up on few forums just to make people laugh, do u mind ?
Are incredibly ironic, because (anti-apple fanboys) <edit - scratch that - replace with 'most everyone'> would be posting this sort of conversation 'up on a few forums' to make fun of you...

You asked her to tell you why the G1 was better than the iPhone. Why would she TRY to sell you the iPhone? Of course she's going to try and sell you the G1... DUH! I'm not going to go to Apple and say "Why is the G1 better than the iPhone?". Also, why does she have to be vastly knowledgeable about the iPhone or about Mac OS X? I think you were just being a jerk to her, and I didn't really find your post to be funny. Sorry. You got what you got.

I'm not saying what the OP did is right but I do find it really annoying when sales representatives don't know what they are talking about.
And no, they don't have to know everything, but if they don't know something they shouldn't pretend that they do and just give false information:
"and applications are avail for free - apple does't allow that..."
"no, os x won't work with the G1... as a restricted Apple app"
And I should know, I've worked as a sales representative for a long time.

Hey, have you guys heard about this poster named Cudo?
Check this out:
He doesn't even know that DVI is digital and VGA is analog! (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=604587)
He's also pretty ignorant about wiping a Macbook drive in order to restore it! (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=461759)
I figured I'd put this up on few forums just to make people laugh!

Actually, if a salesperson is not trying to shamelessly sell their product, they're not doing their job. When going to buy a car, cellphone, or anything, the buyer is naive if they don't expect to be fed a bunch of lines.
In contrast, if the OP is going to be such a c0cksucker, he better know what he's talking about too. He states that Apple only "moderates" the content of the App Store. Anyone with half a brain would know This is 100% false. Apple is the only entity that that has complete control over the content of the App Store and they not only moderate, they single-handedly decide what is placed on the App Store and what is rejected.
