i just bought a g4 that had leopard installed on it and adobe and some other things... all legit copies, but the previous owner lost his CDs and serials. I got copies of the CD/DVDs, but before i reinstall i need to grab the keys.. is there a tool for this? i know they have something for windows, but im new to macs.
i swear im not using this illegally, i just want to reinstall Leopard and its apps.
thanks!

leopard doesnt have a serial. just use the restore discs. you dont need any serials until you get third party apps
sorry, but for cases like adobe, either contact him or buy it again. we cant help in regards to finding serials as it goes hand in hand with piracy

Some softwares will list the serial number in the "About" Menu (i.e. About Photoshop, etc.)
Other than that, this is the wrong forum to be asking about serials (even in a perfectly 100% legitimate case, like I am assuming yours is)
The members run away scared sh*tless when you mention anything that could remotely be in any way related to piracy, and if I were to give you a link for something that would do what you are talking about, I would likely be censored quickly by the mods.
So, if what I said doesn't work for you, do some serious google searching and find another forum that isn't so self-righteous about piracy. From the sounds of it you have every legitimate amount of ownership of those softwares, and there absolutely should be a legitimate way to not digitally destroy your new "property". Good luck.

If you don't have the original disk(s) you need to buy a legit copy.

I'm not going to debate the merits of whether this constitutes piracy... if you have a legitimate, documentable claim to the software, take it to the manufacturers. Adobe in particular takes excellent care of its customers.
Don't discuss ways of controverting DRM, copy protection, product activation, etc, on Macrumors.
