View Full Version : God, I Hate This F'king Phone! I Hate You Steve Jobs!!!

It's STEVE'S fault for being a Nazi.
I'm typing on my keyboard and out of nowhere, the delete button decides to get stuck. I watch in horror as my paper vanishes, letter by letter, whilst franticaly wiping the screen with my iKlean. I get it to stop and start re-typing my paper and it does it again!

Can I get it back? No, I don't have a Control button or an undo command. In fact, I can't do ANY commands. I just take it up the ass.

I hate you Steve.

why the hell were you writing a paper on your iphone?!?!

That's the relevant part. It's a fricking phone. How were you going to print it? Why would you do anything of any importance on a phone?

Answer the question or your anger is horribly misplaced.

Nice job changing your argument, there.

Your ill-informed vendetta is at an end due to a lack of intelligence. That app was never released, therefore, no one but the creators could have gotten it.

yes there is.
I use a Nokia Communicator and it uses standard back comands as well as a menu system for back.
Most smartphones do including sony ericssons P series and most Touch screen smartphones not too shure about blackberries though.

There actually is, email it to yourself and print it when you get to a computer. Or better yet, use HP's new App Store app that lets you wireless print on a compatible printer. Or is that too mind-bottling?

Did you also know that notepad is for taking notes? omg mind blown fanboy mentality is that it's perfect and do nothing but defend, no matter what it is. that what he's doing, so he's a fanboy.

And this can go way deeper. WAY deeper. There's thousands of people that post here, who are told that their problem is not really a problem.

If he can't figure out what to use a Keyboard for, then all is lost. Put a keyboard in front of me, I'M GOING TO WRITE WITH IT. And I'm going to write and write and write some more because it's f'king keyboard! INSIDE A PHONE!

Remember it was fanboys that said Apple was fine without a phone on their product line. maybe they were right.
How do people get so blinded by a stupid little logo?

Yeah, Windows Mobile has CTRL-Z or undo from the edit menu pretty much in any app.

Fine, then.

Open Address To Everyone: Attention anyone with a Windows Mobile or Palm OS smartphone... would you write a three-page paper that had any work-related importance on your phone? Respond here.

I have written and edited work related reports on a windows smartphone before when it was all I had on the train and a report was needed urgently. It's not something I'd want to do regularly but at the time it was a life saver. I wouldn't want to do it on a phone without a real keyboard and no word processor, though

Phone... check
MP3 player... check
Communications device... check

Would I write a paper with any three of these? Phone... Hmm, I could write a paper in a series of text messages. But that would be ridiculous. MP3 Player... No, just not really possible. Communications device... Doable, but practical? No. But then again I suppose I have yet to write a multi-page essay within emails to myself. Maybe I should try this out before I knock you for it?

.... Naaaaahhhhhhhhhh. I'll stick with a computer.

Okay, so I was wrong in that there is no practical way to print the paper. That does not change the fact that typing a paper on the iPhone with the Notepad app, which is hardly a word processor, isn't practical.

Good, we have a real response with a valid reason. Now, was the OP pressed for time? Did he not have access to a real computer? If so, it is understandable that he would choose to write his paper on his iPhone and regrettable that his button got stuck.

If he wrote it in Notes, there would have been an easy alternative that would have saved at least some of his document; composing it directly in E-Mail. There would have been a draft saved and he could have force-quit to the main menu, saving whatever the last draft copy contained.

It's not about the App being released, it's about the concept. The concept of 1000's of stupid app toys. Or course I'm not on your side, you're saying my "problem" is only because I'm stupid and I should have never attempted to use my keyboard on my phone and that I'd be better off like a good little fanboy shaking boobs. LOL!

as a phone mania, I've owned a lot of phones and smartphones.

Even with my last HTC TyTN II with full QWERTY keyboard and actual MS Office built on it, I have NEVER used it to write an imporatnt 3-page document on it. [edit: that I would CRY about and blame Steve Jobs for... nothing.]

And there's is a reason why Apple calls it a NOTEPAD not iWork Nano/Mini/iPhone. It's meant to be a small quick-and-easy way to jot down things instantly.

Knowing Apple, if they made the Notepad to be a real office-grade app, they'd call it iWork Mini or something. You know it, I know it, we all know it.

And yes, it is definitely Steve Jobs' fault for gettin that delete key stuck due to a digitalizer failure! DAMN YOU STEVE. UGH.....
what a joke.

Anyways, I love my iPhone, but not so much where I would trust for an important 3-page note-taking software. I don't even trust my AspireOne for such important stuff. It is a PHONE, not a laptop.

He may just like having something small and convenient to type on. The iPhone's nice for typing in bed, or if you're writing a paper and waiting for inspiration, you can add a couple of extra paragraphs whenever you think of new ideas. There's no reason he has to somehow justify using the iPhone to type longer documents. It's supposed to be able to do that since it's targeting "business-class email".

Seems that every time this happens, people blow up in response to my comments and wind up banned or in Time-Out. I'm certainly not trying to goad them into rule-breaking retorts, so should I feel bad that their actions get them into trouble?

Yes, it lacks some basic functions that my old-ass WinMo smartphones could do.
I understand your frustration, but.

While it isn't really the "official" way, there are ways to record videos, unlocking it just using software and so on.

And instead of yelling, swearing and accusing falsely of people who's in for a debate being a "fanboy", we can spend this time to ask and wait for those features to come. With enough voices and actions, we all know it will.

The reason there's a "forum" is to engage in a debate, share the knowledge and agree/disagree in a very nice manner. However, the OP here just wants to express his rage in such a public forum. If he posted something like this at a place like MacRumors, he obviously just started this thread to pick a fight or something. And now with the lack of intelligence of his, he is starting to blame and accuse those who just expressed their opinions on this matter.

And I honestly don't think using F words would bring his papers back. Very inappropriate.
