Hi all,

Need a suitable name for a shop in a busy office area, catering to professionals, managers, and executives.

Our focus will be on gourmet sandwiches on good quality european style breads (Ciabatta, 6 grain, walnut, foccacia etc), some pastries and espresso based coffee.

The shop interior will be minimalistic, slightly upscale but with a fast-casual feel to it. It is small area and we are projecting more takeouts(70%).

I would prefer a name that reflects both our focus - Sandwiches/or bread and Coffee.

I think the challenge lies in coming with a name that is interesting, and yet direct enough that people can associate with us immediately.

Any help will be deeply appreciated!

Nissan paid $30,000 for a name..

I would suggest finding words you like in languages taken from the regions you seek to 'represent' (as it were), and then play with suffixes and various spellings. See what you come up with.

From the links you provided, it looks like you want upscale, metro, minimal stuff. Whatever name you choose, the branding and identity will greatly influence how you are seen by the public - you can greatly play with the name itself as long as the brand is well designed.

That being said, I would avoid names that end in "Company", "Co." "Shop" etc. Try to stick with one- or two-word names.

Just some idears.

Your first post on MR? Maybe it's best to do your market research elsewhere. (http://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/qst_question.asp?qstID=27044)
