So with all the new rumors swirling about, for arguments sake let's say there is an iPhone Nano coming out. (Note: We did see all the case manufactures leak iPhone 3G cases right before it came out.)

What advantages are there to having an iPhone Nano? Disadvantage

Fits in you pocket better, is the only one I can think of.....

For argument's sake, let's pretend you didn't create another thread on this topic when everything you could be talking about has already been covered.

If the current iPhone doesn't fit in your current pockets, your pockets are too small or you're too young.

No advantages other than that as far as I can see. My list of cons is quite extensive...

-harder to type
-easier to drop
-same service charges for a less capable device
-slower processor
-issues involved with porting Apps to a new size/format
-smaller screen
-decreased battery
-decrease in Apple's attention to the main iPhone
-lack of features
-no real price cuts/difference if they want to make a profit
-AT&T will continue to neglect iPhone users and have to deal with another set of users for a different Apple product
-piss off current iPhone users if some new great feature is added that is exclusive to the Nano

Not that I'm against the idea, but I really don't see any advantage to the product and I feel that it really doesn't have a large market, especially in this economy.

There was nothing like this that I could find. All be it the search bar is inadequate at best.

Then we'll pretend you're not that guy that waits for a post to show up that you can try and bash.

Futhermore we'll pretend you missed the word "better" when I said it would fit in my pocket. I'm sure it fits well in your JINCO jeans next to your wallet chain.

the ONLY advantage I could see to a nano iPhone would be size. Those who feel that the current iPhone is too big for them.

Other than that, I think that the original sized iPhone would be superior in every way.

Let's make this a nano thread and close it while it's still small.

Then MRoogle it.

What's JINCO? Wallet chains are for punks and wannabe-punks. Please don't make childish assumptions about people. It's the funniest attempt at declaring superiority one can do.

There is no such thing as "fits better". It either fits (from huge pocket to one just large enough for it) or it doesn't (from one just small enough to be tight to the pockets suited for the iPod nano).

Stop. Just quit already.

For the love of God let this ridiculous idea die. There isn't going to be a nano. It's not a good idea. It's not even an ok idea.

And to the nano-enthusiasts, go ahead and mark my words. I'll officially resign my screen name on these forums if I'm wrong. It'll be worth giving up for going more than 12 hours without seeing another thread with the same moronic speculative blather about this completely fabricated idea that was more than likely caused by a typo on some case developers product page.

Ugh. Bile tastes foul.

Advantages

Smaller Size
Cut down features so cheaper
PAYG so no need for contract (i know this can be done with 3G but this would be cheaper to purchase)

Disadvantages
Cant really think of any

iPod Nano + Basic Phone (cut out all the extra) could be a great product

Please, no! We need all the sensible people we can get! I don't want it to degenerate to the point where I am the only Apple Realist left on here! It won't matter how RIGHT I can be with specs and pure logic as to release dates if I'm the only one who doesn't believe that next Tuesday won't bring an xMac, iPhone nano, Mac Pro case redesign, and new laptops.

Well it's kind of an empty threat anyway since we all KNOW beyong the shadow of a doubt that the threads will not cease.

I think I understand how 'roided out athletes feel when they go into their rages. Seeing these threads makes me wanna punch things.

And to those who are typing or planning to type "then don't read them!!!11":

Shut up.:D

So if you normally wear a large shirt and you tried on a medium. The medium would fit but the large would "fit better". An iPhone 3G case will fit on a 1st gen iPhone but "fits better" on a 3G.

A regular Trojan fits, a Magnum "fits better"

Dude, the arguement is amusing, don't get me wrong. But the whole starting another dumb nano thread left yourself open to attack from the people on here all day seeing the nano stuff a million times when it doesn't exist.

I'm just going to go ahead and say there will never be an iPhone nano. Why? Because Apple isn't having any trouble selling their original iPhone. Seems like a simple enough reason.

It seems kind of hard to me to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of something when we can't even try it, though Mr. Giver '94 gives a general assessment of it :apple:http://www.seoagora.com/img/459/k08q1024glza/ecstatic.gifhttp://www.seoagora.com/img/1261/v08t1201sxfb/cheers.gif

LOL. They accidentally designed and marketed a new case, did they? There are plenty of reasons to think an iPhone nano is not coming... but you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel when you call it a "typo". ;)

To answer the original question: cost. An iPhone nano would presumably not have a mandatory data plan, meaning it's substantially cheaper over the term of the contract. If Apple releases a smaller iPhone but makes the contract the same price, that would be stupid...
