View Full Version : Cannot click! Software error?

My Powerbook G4 1.33ghz will no longer allow me to click on anything. The exact same thing happens with a USB mouse... Clicking simply does not register. With a two button USB mouse, I can right click, but not left click.

I've tried resetting the PRAM and the PMU. In doing this, I got it to work for about a minute.

The other weird thing is that when I put the curser over the dock, it no longer magnifies. Also, upon restart, usually the curser is up over the apple in the top left corner, and sorta permanently "clicks" the apple, opening that list and not allowing me to click anything else.

It's all very weird, it seems to be a software issue though.

Ideas? What else can I try?

Thanks

So in case anyone else is having this problem...

An external mouse works until the trackpad is touched. The minute you move the curser or try to click using the trackpad/button, it's game over.

So, I used an external mouse to simply deactivate the trackpad while a mouse is detected. Problem free ever since! Knock on wood.

Of course, now a mouse is required for sure. Sure beats the hell out of not being able to click, though!
