WoW Screenshots!!!

Hey here are a few screenshots, hope you enjoy them. Ill keep on posting more and take requests of what you guys want to see...ill try and get as many up as I can (when im not playing :D ) BTW these screens come from a dual G4 500 with radeon 7000...so the graphics are nothing near how nice they should look...and they already look nice on this system :)

The beta requirement needed at least 1 Ghtz G4 or G5 with 64mb of video memory witch translate into 15" or 16" power book the 12" comes with 32 mb video memory. I'm kind of stumped with the shot of him standing in the water. Blizzard has stated in wow you will be able to swim.

you can swim...he was bobing up and down when i took the screen shot, thats why it looks like hes standing

dennis, on low settings it plays suprisingly well, i even have my resolution set to 1024x768. When there are less than 5 characters/creeps on the screen the frame rates are very smooth. Of course when there is more action going on it gets pretty jerky, but consering this is an ancient machine by today's standards and Blizzard is no where near done optimizing this game(beta testers are still testing the ALPHA version) they have done an incredible job with performance. This thing will scream on mid ranged systems when the retail comes out.

True, but Blizzard is known to have an obscene amount of beta testers, and it would simply be foolish for them to attempt to enforce the NDA... They just want to get their game in the public eye, not necessarily actually test it

They want to test it but they tend not to have a lot of bugs during beta. The biggest thing they want to test is balance and eventually in this case stress testing for the servers...

Could you guys with WoW beta accounts do me (and I bet a few others would be interested) a favor and post your Xbench results (inc. the OpenGL score) as well as how your system does in WoW (what resolution, graphic settings, framerates, etc)?

I must admit it looks appealing from the screenshots.
In general I'm against pay-2-play approach. But maybe that's why Im missing out on good games ehh?
What kind of game is this exactly? In other words, what are the objectives, cool features, what do u get for paying like what 10-15 bucks/mo for it?
How would you convince me to try the game out?

WoW is a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)

The reason for the probably $14 a month is for this

Bandwith!!! <--- costs ALOT of $$$
24/7 customer support
Game Masters, do in game events + help people in game
continuous game updates (quests, monsters, new locations, etc, etc)
there are other costs as well

Why play
your playing with 1000's of people
Community is great, join a guild and quest together
your in a world that is running 24/7
Become a crafter and become known world wide (in the wow world) for your skills.
They are very fun and WoW will be the BEST (IMO) Try it out if you buy the game you get a month of time which is about the time it takes to beat most games anyways and judge it for yourself

First of all it's "I couldn't care less" what you meant. But what you said is true though you could care less because if you actually did you wouldn't have replied to it ;)

Second, my statement to who copied who stands and what are you basing your judgements on? Screenshots from a game which hasn't even made it to beta? That's what I mean with having opinions without backup.

Third, if they don't even have the reqs out for the mac it is unlikely that it is coming any time soon.

Fourth, what I understand is mine to judge and mine alone. And as far as I am concerned I understood you well.

And fifth, if I want to ignore a post I will, thanks for your kind assistance in this matter. As for now I won't. But since "you could care less"....

<edit: And don't even tell me you're comparing the WoW graphics to the original EQ either it's me or something is wrong with your vision but those graphics don't even come close to where WoW is and it's still in beta.>

Blizzard said that there will be at *least* 5 months of beta. That means that the game is coming out no earlier than September. However, knowing Blizzard, i'd expect it just before the holidays.
