Ok, Neo BLOWS!!! I'm on FAST DSL and searching those networks is a total pain in my a**. When will OS X get a REAL option for audio file sharing? All the Gnutella clients are awful, and Neo is cumbersome. Is there any hope for a true FastTrack client for OS X?

who cares about Audio Galaxy?! just use Kazaa!! although i don't know if there is a version for Mac.....
but it's heaps faster than Limewire!! man is Kazaa fast!!!!:D

Go to the neo mainpage. Look for the STARTERS KIT! There will be no more searching for files. No more searching for IPs

It rocks once you get it. Download it and follow instructions!

Hmmm. This Neo thing looks great. Seems like there's plenty of programmers using Cocoa to give us Mac users more P2P options! This is great!!!

Shame the freakin RIAA closed down AG though. I loved that service.... Gonna miss it.

First, let me congratulate MacAztec for becoming the youngest 4-digit poster on the forums (unless there is someone else...) :)

Second, what exactly is Neo? I haven't heard of it and no one has posted a website for it.

Before AudioGalaxy was shut down I could not get the songs I wanted w/o having to sign up via AG-Satallite. But since the service is down forever, it's kind of a shame.

Again, where would I find Neo?

Neo is on there.

O yea, and if u download Neo, make sure to download the starter kit....makes life sooo much easier.

Ok, so I downloaded Neo AND the starter kit. I put it in Application Support just like the Neo page said to and it STILL doesn't do anything. I still have to search those networks for hours. This bites. Someone tel me what I'm doing wrong here, please!!! :mad:

Does anybody have some good IP ranges to search??? The starter kit is OK, but I only got about 300 host, with 180 online. I know there are a lot more Kazaa hosts, but searching all IPs from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255 would take ages (as in years)...

And there may be a few hosts behind firewalls. I know that on Limewire there were certain hosts behind FWs, such as 0.0.xxx.xxx, 192.168.xxx.xxx, 10.1.xxx.xxx, and 172.16.xxx.xxx, along with a few others. I am not sure if this applies to Neo or the Kazaa network, but it's FYI.

I just tried Neo and I have a few comments. First, the downsides IMO:
(1) Limitation to quantity and, in my cases, quality of files.
(2) Too much variation with windows and resizing.
(3) Still has a few problems with completing file transfers.
Now, the plusses IMO:
(1) Aqua interface.
(2) Much faster than Limewire in immediate search results.
(3) More detail to which hosts can be accessed, and the host's screen name.

I will still switch back and forth until Drumbeat gets an OS X version out the door.

Neo searches for a spesific port (Kazaa port) on each individual IP.

If someone have any IPs to universities (student IP numbers), that would be great. Students are highly represented on P2P networks..... (like me :p)

From what I read, Neo sounds crappy. I'll stick with Limewire. I used to use Hotline, but now it's gone...Neo sounds like that, too....
