Interesting news today: Germany's Infineon Technologies said Tuesday it will form a new company with Motorola and Agere Systems to develop and market specialized communication chip technologies.

Granted, this is for DSPs, but could this also mean a little more R&D funding for powerpcs? If so, does it mean that apple will have less of a say in powerpc development since they're not a part of this alliance?
