What NEEDS to come out at MWNY?

I've heard a number of very optimistic MWNY predictions and a handful of relatively conservative predictions. My question to you is: What does Apple need to produce to make us all happy?

In an ideal world? a dual 2Ghz G5, but that ain't gonna happen :(
I think the main thing is to see the pro line towers get a boost to DDR RAM and G4's of around 1.2-1.4Ghz.
That should keep people happy for the time being.

A boost like that will keep me happy but won't cause me to upgrade. I'm stubbornly waiting for the G5. And if that means waiting another year... so be it!

As far as NEEDING, as far as I'm concerned all Apple truly needs to do is re-establish that line that once separated the pro models from the consumer models. However they plan to do that (in the PowerMac line), I'm looking forward to seeing.

There are SO many things that NEED to happen.

Gates needs to get a new job!

My girlfriend needs to dump me, I am no good!

The entire world economy needs to change to that Star Trek economy! No Money.

Yet, what is going to happen? thats a whole other story.
I think that Apple will stay the course, thousand points of light and sail on.

They will come out with DDR ram, why cause its already out in the servers.
Thats simply enough... no biggie.

Then a small speed bump, to milk the G4 for all its worth, sad yet true.

Will this be enough, hell no! its a bandaid on a wound made by a broad sword!
We're bleeding like a hole in head of picasso.
We NEED Big cpu changes, we need to be on line with the freaking par of rest of the ocmputer world to be taken seriously.

All that said, I think that Jobs is eyeing the highend graphics community again, like he used to, and that means one thing, more and better hardware.

Jobs has said that he wants the Art community to take back the Macs into the world of video and 3d, these are areas that Mac has been ousted for the GULP pcheese. Now I know that I am going to get whacked for this, but sadly its true.

So, to recap..
Needs.... isnt going to happen.
Small moves in that direction.
JObs hints and wets appetite for more as usual, with hyperboly.

But i want to be very very WRONG.

If there are corrections flying around, it's to "whet an appetite".

I think all apple really needs to come out with is DDR-RAM and an über 1GHz powermac. Other than that, it's pretty much just what they *can* release.
