Personally, I view Chris Robinson as the quintessential “Voice” of rock. Do you agree? Check this link out…it’s a great read.

I really like the Black Crowes, but I don't think I could put Robinson ahead of Robert Plant or Freddie Mercury. Both of them had incredible range and power. Even if Freddie wasn't "the voice", he certainly was the ultimate frontman. I am glad to see someone else giving credit to Janis Joplin. There aren't too many female rockers I really like, but she is one. No, she wasn't a great technical singer. But her voice carried incredible emotion and raw energy.
Of course, I would put one other person above all of the above, but he technically isn't a rock singer: Johnny Cash.
Then again, what do I know? I actually like Geddy Lee and James LaBrie as vocalists. :D
