View Full Version : How much is my broken MacBook Pro worth?

I have a 15" MacBook Pro, matte screen, basic, no extra frills. Purchased new in January 2007. It served me well until it fell out of my bag last year and the casing was dented in the corner (bye bye Apple Care Pro). Actually, it worked fine for a few months after that then the display started crapping out. I took it to the Apple store and they said that they would fix it for $855 + $100 labor ("Tier 3 damage"). Instead I just had them clear the hard drive and I'm selling for parts.

I want to know how much it's worth. There are a few other issues: a tiny dent on the upper casing, a few missing keys. The logic board may be damaged, which is causing the display funkiness. Otherwise nothing was ever wrong with it. I posted it for $250 on Craigslist and immediately got about 10 offers. Should I charge more? I'm not out to screw anyone over but if I can make more money from the situation I would obviously prefer to. Advice?

Yours truly,

What is the proc speed? It's basically a Mac Mini at this point, so I'd sell it for $500+ and advertise it as a "Mac Mini" with a superior graphics system. Don't take those $200 offers.
