Do you speak yiddish? do you use yiddish words in your daily life?

some people use words all the time and don't know they are yiddish...like Schlep.

Sure have been using yiddish. Not much though. The only yiddish I use out that list is 'nosh'.

hm i found it very funny that some words sound just some german dialects or have the same meaning
examples:
gey shlofn - geh schlafen ( but the yiddish sound exatly like the dialect)
mentsh - Mensch
shlep - schleppen
shviger - zb Schwieger-(sohn,vater),schwager
shvitsn - schwitzen
shmuz - Schmutz
kreftik - kräftig
shlekht - schlecht
tumul -Tumult
genuk - genug
shnorer - Schnorrer
plats - platzen
handl - handeln
mishmash - Mischmasch
gelt -Geld

of course many of the words sound the same and have the same meaning of german, yiddish is a combination of german and hebrew....I use a bunch of yiddish words (and a phrase or two)
