I know apples hold their value and all, but a 500 mhz iBook going for well over 500-600 dollars seems crazy to me. Especially when you can get a refurbished 800 mhz G3 for 699.99. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy and all, but man there's a demand for them. Oh well, looks like I won't be making the switch anytime soon!

Sellers pay fees on ebay. So i'd expect to get lower prices here.
If you are looking for a small laptop, I'd suggest getting new 800Mhz g4 ibook. Like i said for 1k, its a nice computer. Or you may want to check for used 867mhz pbook 12" will be about $800-900.

P.S but even for simple things like emailing etc, I wouldnt get anything slower than 600 Mhz. 100Mhz is good enough for emailing etc, but general lag will be very annoying (loading times, startup etc).

That would be great...but I can't really afford to pay that much, it would be a nice thought. I guess I'll just wait, I don't desperately need it or anything. I just want some base product to see if I want to switch, I don't want to spend a thousand dollars for something I won't use a year from now. I'm in college and that's too much money to spend right now. Ahh well...it was a nice thought.

You could check www.powerbookcentral.com... They have an ibook section both clamshell and snow... You could probably find something around 500 - 600 dollars.
