Burn a DVD

I have a .dmg file of the Mac OSX Leopard Install Disc and I would like to burn it to a disc and be able to boot from it.

What type of DVD disc should I burn it to:
DVD+R
DVD-R
DVD+RW
DVD-RW
DVD+R DL
DVD-R DL

I just tried to burn it to a DVD+R DL in Disk Utlity but it said "this disc can not be burned".

Any help?

Why do you have a dmg of the install disc?
