View Full Version : Need advice on where to buy replacement parts to refurb (& sell?) old iBook and PB

I'm currently using a PowerBook G3 Pismo as my main computer, and have an old clamshell iBook (a graphite Special Edition 2000) which I no longer use. I'd like to sell it, but there are replacement parts I'd need to buy: new battery and charger.

Now, should I bother, or should I just sell it as is, and leave it all up to the buyer? In that case, I guess I'd have to sell for a lower price and the price for a used clamshell is already so low... but if I buy the replacements before selling it, then they're going to cost me about half the selling price...

So, what should I do? Someone told me I could disassemble it and sell the individual parts and probably make more money that way. Is it worth it?

What would you suggest?
