In order to do what?

You can already do anything on a MBP.

Your MBP isn't behind bars unlike his naughty iPhone cousin  :p :D

Apple's computers are "free roaming" machines as far as software goes. As far as I know there isn't anything you can do to "jailbreak" the machine.

If one does not understand the concept of jailbreaking, one should not do it.

I think this might be related to the OP's other thread

Told Apple store rep that I wont be paying for my software. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=676669)

Huh? This is too weird of a question for me. The OP has to be under 15

something similar to what you would do on the iPod/iPhone.

jailbreaking means that you can now install whatever you want on a closed system. In essence you have root access where you're not supposed to have it. A Mac is just a computer, you have full permission to do anything on it, so there's no need to jailbreak it... duh.

the closest thing to "jailbreaking" would be to use the sudo command... so just go get a book and learn how to use sudo.

although I would prefer it if the under educated would be B&.

Ah now it makes sense - he's just bought a Mac and wants to know how you get free software on it.
