I've been diging through some video pre/post production message boards. I came acrossed this finding. It is a page with pictures on an update to the Canon Mini-DV cam the XM-1. It is titiled as the 'XM-2' (the XM is a European PAL camera), but in close detail on the pictures it clearly says on the cameras body 'GL-2'. The timing does seem right for an update to the GL-1, and if anyone has noticed, the GL-1 has been discontinued. Today (June 25) is the DV Expo in new York, and on the DV Expo's website you'll find this:
