American date system: Month/Day/Year

Indeed, the grease on the hinge tends to dry after a while... I advise not buying hinge that are too old

It is common knowledge that the arms were very weak. They should have been built out of steel, but the price was too high for Apple. Now, of course they are making a bundle repairing those hinges.

Obviously, you're not an engineer.....Imagine the cost of the actual aluminum casting arm made of steel.......1000 degree for aluminum maybe 5000 degree for steel

That would indeed make a difference. Oh, and I just had my Manufacturing Processes final today, and we worked with cast aluminum at one point :D

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions on replacing the hinges. The main thing is to open the cover without bending it. Use any strong glue (Gorila Glue works fine)
