Love for the case Mods

Well, the desktop setup theme lead to a brief discussion about case mods, so I figured I'd start a thread aout it. Anybody with cool work or just ideas, I'd love to see. I'll post my pictures when I get home from this boring job.

At the last Macworld Japan a guy had a transparent 2001 iBook case. I want one

The top handle of my G4 glows blue, as does the Apple on the front. I'd take a photo of it, but the coolness is lost... just imagine and go "oooooooh... ahhhhhhh..."

well ive alreayd posted this but this thread could use more activity.

i built a mac se aquarium awhile ago but dont have it anymore and no pictures.

my next project is to take an ibook (any model i can get my hands on) and turn it into an ant farm. but im still looking for a borken ibook for cheap enough.

modding the new icebooks is very easy because the white paint comes off with a lil acetone as i understand it. means you can just wipe off the old pain and add your own (or leave it transparent).

modding a Ti i havent seen yet. but if you get a translucent paint then adding a green blue red (whatever) tint would be pretty easy. so many people use touch up paint on them now it should be an obvious next step.

the towers since the bw g3 are also easy to mod. a lil paint on the underside give sthem an interesting tint. or you can add interior lights an dmake them glow any given color. other mods have been adding another optica drive (but its rather sad that that has to be a mod).

if i get the ant farm to work, then i might try for a very narrow ibook/powerbook (whatever falls into my hands) aquarium. put guppies in it or something smaller. brine shrimp (sea monkeys). but that would be tyough so id like to wokr out the details with a ant farm first.

Aww you guys are sweet! You gave life to my dying thread. I, on the other hand, went out last night instead of posting pictures, so I feel bad now, oh well, I'll get to it.

My TiBook has got a few Internal Mods (mostly heat stuff) my next job is to but a purple LED in my iSub, I don't think I could put Leds in the SoundSticks :)

I also have a G3 Colour Classic.

my iSub shipped with a purpleish/ blue led alreaddy in it. as a power indicator, alsoi the SoundSticks casing opens up quite nicely when falling from a height of about 1.5 meters on to a hard floor:D :D

Mine has a blue light in it, but I want it to be a really dark purple, actually a red would look quite cool.

Infact, I know I could never do it, but an LED that pulsed with the amount of bass would be cool :)

Anyone know a good paint thiner? I got a little oversray on the bottom of my Pismo Case. I had a thought today, at <URL\pbparts.com\URL> you can buy replacement shells for top and bottom. You could theoreticaly go the nokia route and have a crapload of different colors/mods on the same Pismo (Ti too for that matter) Of course, craking it open that often would make me uncomfortable.
