Warcraft III MacRumors Clan *STARTED*

Ok... so its not quite officially started, but I'm collecting a list of:

you Warcraft III Name
the game server you play on
your messaging contact (AIM, .Mac, MSN)
your email address

So far I have 5 people interested in playing that have given me all that contact information. And many others that have expressed interest but haven't given me their info.

As mentioned before, we'd like to create a sub-division in our Team G5 clan which will be based on Warcraft 3. We only need you and your interest of doing so. Team G5 has grown to be a very skillful and extremely well organized Unreal Tournament 2004 clan, and we're currently playing in Team Warfare's Onslaught 2004 Spring League. We've won all our matches, except the first one we ever played; against Clan MacAddict. But we got our revenge!

We've also gathered a little community based around the game and the site, and our forum currently have thousands of posts (in only a few months).

A War3 division of Team G5 would be run as an independent website within the Team G5 domain and hosting service, but it would be tightely connected to the core clan itself, and equally treated as the UT division. We have a couple of Team members who already are interested in joining the War3 division, so we're in one way even closer to an establishment.

team... 'G5'? hhmmm.... wouldn't it be better to have a Mac Rumors clan? i mean what happens when the G6 comes out? :p

and team G5 sounds kinda lame, or is it just me? although on the plus side it seems they are very well organized.

i'd still much prefer to have a MR clan. :cool: also, if it was a MR clan, perhaps we could have a seperate forum set up here at Mac Rumors, a sub-forum of the Gaming section?

well as long as there's a bunch of us to play WCIII, i'm happy. but i would still prefer to have a MR clan. :)

When we had the Macrumors WarCraft 3 Clan it was great... for the first 2 weeks. Then people started to get inactive and the sorts. It ended with multiple accounts created to keep the clan active. It was a slow death... pretty painful.

We intend to keep the Team G5 Warcraft Divison as active as possible and that requires 2 things:

1. Organization from the Leaders

2. Interest from the players, cause without them the Team wont survive.

One thing that we seriously do need is to challenge other clans. Competition is always a welcome to keep us fit and ready to fight!

It's on our best interest (players of Warcraft) to have this division since it will enable us to have a steady and well organized place to meet, to discuss strategies, to have fun (which is the basic of all this) and to kick some PC users butt!

We shall host the Warcraft division page with us but we will delegate powers, so the Chieftain and the Shamans can keep the Team active by themselfs, but with our help.

As to when the when the G6's come out... Team G6 all the way! :D

Hope that we can make this a excelent Warcraft Team as we do with the UT2K4 division (Team game today on the League!)

I agree with cb911 that it'd be nice to keep the clan under MacRumors... since that's where we put it all together... but I'm also aware that there used to be a MacRumors clan that has since disbanded. They've tried a couple times to put it back together but each time it hasn't happened.

I think joining Team G5 gives us some already built organization that will help keep things rolling.

But if all the MacRumors folks who have expressed interest to join would rather not join Team G5, I'm ok with that too... but I think the advantage of joining them will be great.

I have a list of 17 folks now. But no one is emailing me with times they would be available to start the clan. So I may start just setting a time and asking as many of the 17 be there that can. If we get 10, we'll be able to start it and add the rest later.

So I propose for now, meet:

yes, I run it on a 1 Ghz G4 (12" PB) with 32 VRAM and 768 RAM. It plays very nicely.

It is short sighted of you guys to make such a limited clan. I belonged to the MacAddict clan when it existed, and it was such a waste of time, with only 12 members. I begged the clan leaders to make it a more inclusive Mac clan, but for some dumb reason, they wanted it to be just the readers of that forum, and the clan fell apart, just like your guys' last one did. If there was a big Mac clan from this site, Macaddict, and whatever other mac sites are out there, it would be feasible to get 50 members, and have a much more active community. You guys should really consider it.
