Can a moderator please explain? Do you guys simply lock threads that you perceive as "anti-Mac", wow.

I was merely asking a darn question.

Is this how things are done around here?

Because it made no logical sense.

Okay so let me get this straight. My thread made no sense to you or whomever felt that way, so therefor it is locked before I can start replying to the comments that were made to me?

Its really an issue between you and the mods. PM them and discuss it but the final comment pretty well sums it up.

Plus you weren't really just insulting the mini, which I think the mods would have let pass. You were also insulting the people who bought them, which is different.

Wait for the fallout when this thread gets moved and/or locked for asking in the open, something that should be handled with a PM.

Edit: Solicitation of negative posts, aka "Trolling"

Damn now I am all offended by this turd. I make lots of money, hell could have bought a MP but didnt need that to surf the web and use iTunes and play aound with my home pics and movies. OP please realize that just because there are much better spec'd systems out there doesnt mean that everyone wants or needs one. 550.00 for a mini is very reasonable and it does everything most need it to do for a lot less than an iMac. Now for those of us that spend out nights with our women and not in the majical land of WoW the mini does just fine

Well, I would hope this is not par for the course around here but perhaps it is.

To clarify, I obviously laid out the points of my post regarding Mini first, then made a humorous statement as to its affordability, when we all know if you want the best of the best that Apple has to offer, you are not spending less than $1500.

You also implied someone was oxygen deprived because they said a mini could play games. I'll have you know, I get plenty of oxygen (and food too) and with a Vista Experience rating of 5.0 on my 4GB ram nvidia-based mini I play AOE3, Company of Heroes (DX9), Titan's Quest, CIV IV, LOTR BFME II, etc with med-high settings @ 1920x1200 on my 24" monitor.

Obviously, these are not FPS games with crazy requirements but they are relatively recent and look and play just fine with my mini. Can i crank up the graphics to even higher levels on my ATI 3650-based Sony Vaio? Sure but that doesn't mean the mini is only for text-based terminal apps.

People in here could guess all night... your best bet would be to PM a mod directly IMO...

Edit: actually it looks like if you read the last post in the wastelanded thread it gives the reason.... if you still feel disgruntled you could always (nicely) pm the mod. You'll get no love taking it to the public forums.

OK, sure. But some people don't need or want the best. Just because you can afford a $1500 computer doesn't mean you should get one.
