My iPhone 1st generation is out of warranty. I used it last week around the house briefly with the case off. Well it fell of the kitchen counter and the glass cracked. It still worked and all, but was awful to use. Went down to my local apple store. I put the broken phone back into the protective case. I was explaining to the apple sales associate that the phone keeps on freezing and I have to turn it off and on at least 15 times a day. He asked to see the phone. I removed the phone from my pocket with the glass side facing the ground. He reached out to grab the phone and I let it go before he could get a grip. The phone fell to the floor flat on glass surface. The associate immidiately started apologizing for his mistake. Long story short the manager came and also apologized and I walked out with a refurbished iPhone 3g. I love this phone.

Thats fraud, you shouldn't be bragging about it.

Actually you shouldn't be doing it, and at least if you're going to do it, don't brag about it

I don't think thats something ethical or morally right. Perhaps you have your own reasons for pulling that stunt, but bragging about it...? I find that a real turn off. You could have cost someone to have his pay docked.

Campus wifi. I was on twitted complaining a out my broken phone and someone e twittered me what they did and I copied it. These companies screw consumers all the time, to hell with them. It's payback.

How did it fall on the floor? Wouldn't it have fallen on the counter if you were sitting at the genius bar? Or did you plan the whole thing out beforehand and stand beside the genius bar so that when you dropped the iPhone it would hit the floor?

nice try buddy! lol that's lame.

but what exactly have they done to you?

And it's not about the company, it's about you doing something that's wrong.

To be fair, morals and IP tech are pretty unrelated :p

It's not the direct relation but rather the point that the gentleman is arguing and slandering on a point for which he has no real obvious knowledge and given his high moral stance, this is probably a very immoral act.

I'm not the first to defend a company but you probably costed someone their job. And it'll be pretty hard for them to get another one in an economic slump. Nice job.

i'm not defending the OP, but I fail to see how replacing an iPhone would cause somebody to lose their job...

Well, I suppose not. But it could be particularly damaging for that employee to replace an iPhone that wasn't supposed to be replaced. I suppose it was an over exaggeration.

I can see your point, we don't know what kind of boss this worker has so you never know.

ok guys put the apples back in your scrotums. It didn't happen, it was a joke to arouse the morality police and Steve jobs go-bots.

and if that employee was to ever by any chance read this, he/she would turn bitter towards somebody else who might actually have a real problem with their equipment and give THAT person a hard time.
this is just a sucky thing to do all around.
