There are tools to do it in Windows but I can't find any for OS X.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for.

I am very surprised for two reasons: First, I am surprised that I didn't find this considering all the Googling I did. Second, I am surprised that they charge money for this, because people tend to get in an awful lot of trouble when they charge money for software and/or services that essentially just facilitate piracy.

I used Audio Hijack Pro for all my 'discreet' recording (*cough*Rhapsody*cough*).
