Yes, this is very much a 'spam' thread!
Spam is any post or thread that has no value and only fills space or ups a person's post count. Depending on the board, spam is tolerated to different degrees.
Sufficient explanation?
If so, thread closed, otherwise someone else elaborate please.

spam on these boards also includes posting "I agree" 5 times in a row without providing anything useful incite or contribution to a discussion -- the number 5 can vary -- to increase post count. It also includes online advertising (as in what you see in email, and doesn't have an "unsubscribe" option at the end of the email). Neither is welcome on these forums.

I agree.
I also agree.

Disclaimer: this post is merely to point out what spaming is and how annoying it can be. It's also here so I can see my post count go +1 and then -1. :)

to be honest spam on macrumors is slyhunter (frequents the political forum)
he is so good at spam that he has actually redifined the term and NO PAST MEMBER HAS COME CLOSE from what i have seen on here for nearly 4 years, but in the political forums anything goes and people can go way beyond what has been tolerated in the past and i know arn and the mods have backed off the political forums a whole lot
but don't try and use the loose cannon approach of the political forums anywhere else on this site ;)

Well since the post count doesn't count we have this equation:
If post count = useful post
If Political forums = no post count
Political Forums = no useful posts
Why moderator a forum when there are obviously no useful posts?
I stopped going there because my eyes were opened several times to views I never thought I would get, but when trying to change others... no one varied in their views.
I went from liking clinton to not liking him... but on the flip side I wasn't able to alter peoples beliefs on Bush... no WMD's... rushing to war... nothing helped sway people anymore.
bah!
