Open 'Mail'
Select Inbox
Now swipe the bottom bar (where it says Updated) from left to right as if you're unlocking the iPhone. Notice that the edit button at the top right changes to "Done."

Pointless post I know. Here come the flames....

Just do it on your own phone. Geez.

Maybe you accidentally pushed a button and that button warranted editing so it gave you the option to be done?

 hmm idk.

And no, no flames.

Did it work for you too? I figure that's what happened as well.

That would be hard since I don't have an iPhone. :D

No, I dont have an iPhone, but I did a few weeks ago. I'm not calling you a liar, I was just giving you something to think about.

Do it on your phone and then press the home and sleep button simultaneously to make a screenshot then upload it here for us to see.

I'm too lazy to upload it and blur out my email messages. Sorry, it's not worth uploading as it is a stupid find anyway haha.

No flames. Just dousing your 'feature' hype.

When you swipe, the swipe action actually applies to the message below the 'Updated' blue strip. So depending on how many preview lines you have set, you might not see the red 'Delete' button appearing, thus turning the 'Edit' to 'Done'. Swipe to delete any message, the same thing happens.

You're right, I confirmed this when I set the bottom email to halfway and when I swiped, I saw part of it disappear where the "delete" button would be.

most likely, when you were sliding your hand at the bottom, you slid it across a email, and it went to "delete" mode, then it shows DONE at the top.

Edit: oops, didnt see the earlier response
