Ok, I haven't talk about the situation in my country since april when a bunch of people got shoot ( http://www.fuerzasolidaria.com/video.html ) in a manifestation osking the president for the resignation.
Well, looks like we are gonna fall in to a civil war. The goverment have been giving guns to civiliand of the gettos (AK-47, etc). Our president is doing the same thing Fidel Casto did (and still doing), creating a parallel army with civilians and cutting budget of the military, togather with the support of the colombian guerrilla.
Just imagine that Caracas is a place just like New York city, where the people at Harlem is armed by the goverment and some people from Queens too, all of them against the Upper East side and the Financial District.
Well, half of my income is used in getting ammo. 80% of the army is against the goverment as well 80% of the country. 60% of the congres belongs to the president political party as well the ministry of justice. We have an inflation of 30% just this year. BUt the president is telling to the people of the gettos that is because the rich people wants to take the money and the investments out of Venezuela and that is why they are cutting out jobs, when the reality is that the dollar increased from Bs.700/$ to Bs. 1400/$ in just 6 months and the tax went from 14.5% to 16%, besides that there is a law that takes 1% off of every transaction with do in the banks and goes to the goverment too.
So, we are armed, the are armed too, the goverment just doesn't care and the army is upset and divided.
Nice summer.

sounds effed up memory :(
It’s absurd that some people are governed by
people they don’t want.
It’s time for the international community
to help you guys with new elections.
Don’t make enough money?
They never give you any extra’s?
you feel unsatisfied?
Maybe fraud’s the thing for you.

Holy ****!
If someone came to my door with an AK-47 and told me to get ready, I would be rather concerned to say the least!
My heart goes out to you. I have seen alot of violence in my life and I still havent gotten used to it. It still makes me nervous and crazy.
I would leave the country, i think and try to find a place that people live in peace.
Peace be with you.

Thanx guys.
Let me tell you that the international comunity is divided, specially in the US.
A big part of the US is interested in a civil war here and in the bankropsy of Venezuela, just because the would be able to buy the oil industry very cheap amoung others. That is why there are not too much actions right now, Jimmy Carter is one, the Rockefeller and the British Petrolium are the others.
Bush would like to do something about it but the republicans (or the other ones, the oposite party) are waiting for him to do something stupid to get it. The socialist movment is getting big, specially with the situation in Venezuela. Right now our biger problem are ourself. The political parties of the oposition are divided, whaiting for some alien force to do the job for them.
A good example of what mediocracy and low educational level can do is the venezuelan goverment.

Personally, I would just put my .45 to his head and tell him to get the ***** out of my face... :D With 15-16 rounds in the magazine (plus one in the chamber) he would be f*cked up if he didn't.
Makes it a bit smarter to own a firearm in that type of situation. That way, you at least can protect your friends and loved ones from harm.

@ AlphaTech : Yep. Or better yet, a Glock 21C. Not as many rounds, but still a fine handgun. :D :D
@ mymemory : Sorry to here about that. What are you going to do?

I really don't know much about the situation but I am curious about whether or not you think that the problems are caused by a low education standard alone, or whether or not it is also due to corruption.

I'll keep my Para-Ordnance P14 (modifed, and made sweet :D) with the steel frame and such. I don't like Glock pistols, since they don't fit my hand well, and the grips are not as comfortable as a 1911 clone. I also like to have a hammer that I can see and either cock, or release at will (or bill... gates that is :D). With the extended safeties and releases, it's nice. Plus the extended beavertail safety makes it a very safe firearm.
BTW, I believe I have about 7, or so, high capacity magazines for my pistol... with 15 in each, I could have 105 rounds in magazines, plus the one in the chamber readily available at a moment's notice. How many does that Glock POC hold??? :D

Well, I think the Glock 23C has 13 .45 rounds in the magazine, plus one in the chamber. Although if you wanted max. number of rounds, you could always downsize the caliber and go for a 9mm*19 Glock 19 or a .40*15 Glock 23.
BTW, I have nothing against 1911, or any variant thereof. Your P14 sounds very nice indeed. :D

I prefer the stopping power behind the .45... especially when I use my 'artillery' rounds (255 grain, moving at ~725fps). More kinetic energy then a bus.. well, maybe not that much, but you get the idea (knocks down 1/2" thick, 10" diameter steel plates like they are paper). The recoil from my .45 is easy on the arms, and only has about a 1" muzzle rise after each shot.
Caliber is one area where size does matter... :D

Put two Alpha’s together and you have a crime-scene.
Put three Alpha’s together and you have full blown war

They come togather, no education lead to no values and corruption is one of the concecuences.
I have found out that leaders like Chavez let everybody orund him still money for later extortionate them with the proves. To give you an example, by 1998 we had an internal debt of $2billion and the barrel of oil was $8, that was at the moment whe the last president left. Right now with this president we have a debt of $11billion with the oil at $22, that means that we have been selling the barrel of oil at $22 for about 3 years, almost 3 times the price of the previous goverment and our internal debt is almos 6 times bigger? where is all that money?
Whe could be building a World Trace Center every week with that, but the devaluation is 70% .
Another example, in march I rented an apartment for Bs. 380.000 (=$380), right now the rent should be Bs. 528.000, the dollar went from Bs. 1000 per $ to Bs. 1.392 per $ in just 3 months. Let me tell you that minimun sallary still Bs. 180.000.
Any way, the goverment is telling to the poor people that all what we have (the rich people) belongs to them. Like the Gipsy culture.

I heard the rumor that AlphaTech is secretly working on an Ideal world
Have they been telling you, you have to postpone the present cause of the future?

I once had a really sweet potatoe gun.
It had a handle that fit my hand really well, and I had draw this nice flower on the side of it with a red marker.
I had loads of ammo, there was always a potatoe lying around, you just pick it up and push it into the tip of the gun and your fully loaded!
One in the chamber of pure death dealing potatoe!
Now thats a fine weapon.
