If you use Dell hardware, you can send out the warranty expiration code which will signal the laptop to fall apart.

I'm sure there are a lot of MBPs which have been stolen and I'd say there are quite a few members who have had theirs stolen aswell.

My sisters dell inspiron 17" bought in Jan 2006 just failed 5 months after warranty in 2009. motherboard is dead and apparently it's a known issue with that model and it's all over their forums.
sounds rather convenient to me...
I think a class action would set them straight. I'm not a law suit type of person either...never done it....but things like that really pisses me off...seems 3 years is max out of a laptop nowadays..
