Instead of creating a thread about asking to delete threads, you should just report the thread with the little triangle button, and let the mods use their best judgment on what to do. :)

Simply crying like a baby in this free country is what your doing. Honor your contract and shut your mouth, or sell your phone and use the $ to pay the difference, but quit blaming AT&T for your decisions.

Don't delete them, I made a few funnies. Just merge them all. There should only be one thread on the matter.

you cant report threads where people are simply saying what they think and trying to persuade others to join them. What you are saying is whenever you see a thread that you dont like....you want to be able to report it

one thread would work there are currently 6 threads on this subject on the front page. and I am guessing at least one more created while I watch the Red Wings send the Penguins sliding home! ;) since Penguins can't fly!

Yes I dont mind them thinking there owed something when its there fault they signed a contract you must honor it or simply not buy. I was just simply asking to delete all but one or merging them is fine but we dont need 10 different threads on the same thing. Maybe one for the petition for cheaper and one thread for petition that they need quit whining

It is used for flagging a thread or a specific post. Just include detaisl in the post report so the moderators know what to look for.

I dont view it as complaint but moer as asking to delete all but one b/c there is no reason for 6 or 7 of them.
Also I didnt sign a contract with Macrumors nor are they losing money so if you do this as a complaint, its a totally different level

Anyway, if you think the threads on the new iPhone price are bad, search for "Verizon iPhone" and cry until next Tuesday.

I just picked a post and reported it, asking if we can merge all the similar threads together and only have one thread for the petition for cheaper iphones b/c att owes them and 1 thread for petition about people think they need to stop whining and att doesnt owe them anything

You can use the http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/report.gif Report Post icon next to a post to report a single post, a series of posts, a thread, or any other forum issue that you want to call to the moderators' attention.
Even though the moderators receive a link to that post with your message, your message can explain that the problem is more than just that one post.
We appreciate your help in reporting problems in the forums. The moderators evaluate every post report that is submitted, although in some cases they decide that no action is necessary.
As far as complaint threads go, there is no blanket rule against them, but we may remove threads that don't make a point at all, and we may merge or remove threads that duplicate previous threads. Still, it's to be expected that there will be many threads with complaints whenever Apple changes its product line, and it's not practical to merge them all into one huge thread covering everything. We try to find the right balance, letting people speak their minds while lessening the clutter when we can.
Keep in mind that the initial flurry of threads after a Big Apple Event always dies down. Then we'll be on to new topics worth complaining about!

Oh so "they're". My bad. :)
Still, you might be barking up the wrong tree here. There's WAY more threads regarding speculation of the iPhone on Verizon's network.

I expected this one to get deleted. I didnt know it would be such a big deal to ask if we can merge the threads so there isnt as many on the front page. I am a mod at a car forum and that is what we would do. It was just a suggestion, man just let them be then. I didnt think it was a big deal. Thanks

So you are a mod on another forum and didn't think to email the the mods here with your suggestion and instead created another thread? Strange. :)

Dont even call it that just merge everything to one post. I didnt think it would result in this. I just dont see a reason in having 10 post about the same thing. It was just a suggestion.

Unfortunately I don't know the mods here either however with yourself being a mod on another web forum, the thoughts of "Gee, I'm a mod, maybe this place has a link somewhere to contact them with a suggestion I have. Once I submit that, I'll join this glorious community of Mac folks and post some topics for discussion on current Mac goings on!" never crossed your mind?
Apologies for harping on you, being a newbie and all. Since we are giving opinions here, it's the fact you claim to be a mod on another forum yet make the same "newbie mistakes" as a new user. That must be one heck of a forum. :)

Still where can I contact a mod.. Istill have no clue other than the report button. Which is different then over at my forum.. The other forum I belong to is Club4g.org a 4th Gen eclipse forum.. You an check it out sometime. We color code our members as Supermods Mods and members. That way there is no confusion, but we are a much smaller forum also. Again I was just trying to suggest something, and BAM people are jumping my case. I wouldnt have posted if I woud have known who was a mod. Then i would have just PMed that mod.

First, there's the Contact Us link below. If that doesn't work, straight from the FAQ is this: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=370725.
In other words, you don't need to know who is a mod and who isn't. I'm not perfect either and do not expect new members to be, but some here do expect that you have either searched (at least briefly) for an answer before creating a threat such as this. With that said Doctor Q is an admin who actually replied to one of your earlier posts.
Perhaps if you construed your post more like "Hey guys, I have seen all these threads that are very similar in topic, I'm new here and even tho I am a mod in another forum, I can't seem to find a way to submit feedback for my ideas. Mods please also delete this thread if necessary, but can we delete the gazillion threads on this same issue X or perhaps merge them together?"
Does that make more sense?

Thank you.. That is kinda hidden.. Also, is this how you treat every new member. Just jump on there butt for one mistake. If the mods were pointed out more clearly and not hidden to where you basically have to go to one specific spot to find one, I would not to have had posted this thread and we wouldnt be going through this debate. How did you expect a member been on the forum for 3 hrs to know everything about this forum. Every forum is different.

You're welcome. I'm not sure how anything was hidden at all. Contact Us is right at the bottom and FAQ is right there at the top. Since just about every website with forums or some sort of user interaction has a FAQ, you don't need to know this forum specifically and just think "Crap, how do I do 'X' at this new site. I wonder if they have a FAQ to help me out..."
So yes, when folks miss something so obvious, one should expect a little heat I suppose. :)

Again take a look at the forum I mod with color coded differences. So I dont see how scrolling to the bottom of the page at searching for a contact us is very obvious. Your more worried about me missing a darn button more than a million threads stating the same thing. I think that says enough to me. Again all I did was post a suggestion. I admit I MISSED A DARN BUTTON, but why you cant just accept that every now and then someone misses something. There has been one person actually stated a reply related to the thread. Just delete this thing. I didnt think it was a big deal but I guess no one here can accept that people do make mistakes. This is very much my fault bc I missed something, but is it really worth 40 post to criticize me for it. When there are people complaining about bigger things such as a contract that they signed.

Again, this is not based on forums per se:
http://www.apple.com/
http://www.cvs.com/
http://www.microsoft.com
http://www.target.com/
http://www.google.com/ (need to click the About Google for the Contact Us link)
Etc, etc etc. Scroll to bottom of all those pages, they all have a Contact us link. It's sort of an "industry standard" to make things easier for new users not knowing how to navigate the new site so I am uncertain as to how you didn't feel this to be prudent and check the bottom of the page as a starting point. Apologies that you seem to be taking this personally. :) it's not my intention to criticize you, but your responses do not make sense and I am just having a discussion on those responses.
Look at it this way, your post count is now higher due to an informative discussion, thus bringing you closer to a level where you account is granted more functionality. Unless you missed that part of the FAQ. :)
