Hi,

I have an iPhone 3g on the o2 network. It is running firmware 2.2.1.

I have followed instructions and used QuickPwn & iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore and have now got the Cydia and installer icons.

When I install anything from either of those two apps, it requests I pay or input a code to use the items I install. I thought the whole point of jailbreak was to get around that?

Did I do something wrong?

Also when I told an icon and all the icons wiggle. Before there was a small cross that appeared on all icons for you to remove the ones you wanted. Those no longer appear when the icons wiggle... is this normal after a jailbreak?

Any help appreciated... thanks.

Not all jailbreak apps are free but most of them are, some have trail periods, and some you have to pay for.

To remove the apps you installed you have to go to cydia (under manage i think) and delete them from there.

Also your best bet is too go to google or youtube and type in "best jailbreak apps" that will help you find good ones to install.

Installing apps that normally require purchasing on the App Store is pirating and not allowed on MR.
