Unlimited email for free! And it has a built in email search, much like Gmail's.

Yeah. But personally I don't need more than 1GB, and I doubt that most people do. And since I'd rather have important email served from a reliable company that I've heard of, I'm sticking with GMail.

So far, their internet search engine (http://www.eid.com/search.html) (not for emails) is laughable.

Yahoo is upping is wonderful service to 100 megs soon. Supposedly geocities will give you 50 (instead of 20 or wutever it is now) megs of space for free too.

Well, I sent myself a test msg from my work account to my new eid account at 12:30, it's almost 15:30 now and still no sign of it. Not to mention the fact it takes 5mins to even open your inbox when it is empty!!! :mad:

I would want to use Google because I love Google.. and you know that Google will make money, so support the best search engine (that you can use for free) by letting them provide you a free service :D

Yeah, even I'm eating my own words, eid.com doesn't work. I tried at least three test emails (before I did my homework...blah), and 0% came through.

All right, I blew this one.

In the meantime, Spymac or Gmail for 1GB; Crispymail (www.cripsymail.com) or 2cni.net (http://www.2cni.net/home.php) for free 100MB email accounts if you won't use Yahoo's email.

This is what I got after opening an account and sending an e mail

to my .mac account.

None of the recipient's email addresses were accepted by your server.

same thing happened to me, my own email address wasn't accepted. and it said i had used 1.76% of my quota when i created it, so it doesn't sound terribly unlimited, even if it worked. pity, i could use a big account, but gmail is taking forever :(

i give it a week before the inbox is flooded with spam...

Anyway, I think its always best to stick with stuff people actually have heard of.

On a different not: Server space isnt as expensive as it used to be. Google has something like 100,000 servers for its use. If they dedicated one of those and put 2.5TB of hard drive space, thats 2500+ gMail accounts (gMail gives you 1000MB, not 1024). Google makes back the cash in not time through the advertisers. Instant cash cow. Hotmail just doesnt look good enough anymore. I personally use Fastmail.fm, which is super fast and super reliable. I pay $39/year for 150MB space and 750MB BW/month. I dont mind it being so small because I dont get spam. Ever. Plus it comes with server space (think 100MB, though maybe more) and domain registering. It can even be routed through mail.app, which is nice .A very quality service.
