I had a clear case once. the back looked like cr*p after a few hours where it rubbed away and all scuffed.

Same, had that same problem on the PS Air jacket, but isn't that what cases are for?
Btw does someone have a review of this case on a white iPhone 3G? I really want to see how it looks, or does it just ruin the color because of the black sides?

Will this case cause the same scratches that people saw with the incase slider?
I'm also curious if there will always be 'water-marks' if the Reveal is used on a phone that has a skin on it.
dannyar

Have not seen any scratches like the ones i got from the slider. With no skin on the back theres absolutely no water marks. With a skin the water marking is there but minimal. Theres some reviews out there for this case with some that have skins on.

Does anyone know if the case allows you to use the iPhone Dock.
I was planning to buy the Power Support Crystal Film set for my 3gs and use the Griffin Reveal for protection against accidental drops.

The tuxedo / penguin style looks fine, as I imagined it would. I bought it a few days ago and it is now on my white 32g 3gs. You do realize that if you click on the youtube link they show a similar representation of it in the fist 2 seconds right? It looks just like that, only with the apple further up, a camera lens in the top left corner, and text centered in the bottom... :)

I definitely plan to get one of these...looks like exactly what I've been looking for. Of course I said that about the last 4 cases.

Oh okay, I'll stop by an Apple store after all this 3GS hype is over and try that case.

Hum, I like this case a lot, but tried it with my new S iphone and the phone actually moves around a bit in the case. It is really odd. If I press the top button down (sleep/wake) it actually causes the phone to move downward in the case and then there is a slight gap left at the top. Basically, the case seems to be slightly too large for the phone. Really strange. Anyone else who has this case notice this, or did I just get a fluke of one? I really like this case, but definitely don't like the idea of my phone moving around in it.

Noticed the same thing when I bought it today. As I look at the phone sitting on the desk right now for example, i can see a gap between the top of the phone and the case and i can see through the headphone jack cutout.

That was exactly what I was going to ask about. Case seems great, but does it hold the phone snug?
All in all, the video review was good though. And that's coming from someone who can't stand video reviews, I just find them cheesy.

Where can you buy these, other than online? Does it fit tight with a regular 3g? Even though they are the same size. I don't see how that would make a difference...

You will have to let us know if it is a permanent one or not. Otherwise this case is a no go for me. Which is really too bad cause I like the idea and looks of it.

yup - buttons have to be pressed pretty hard... though the sleep/wake button being almost flush with the phone on my new 3gs can't be helping this at all...

I have the candyshell as one of my go to cases. I love it. Protects the phone great! Just wish it wasn't quit so bulky. Makes it really hard to hit that silent switch. But good case overall.
I just wish the reveal fit my phone a bit tighter. I might be tempted to go back to Apple store and try another one out to see if it fits better than the first one I got. :p

Weird, I put the reveal on yesterday and it took my almost a half hour to remove (but thats probably because the corners weren't flexible at all).
Also, the volume buttons on the reveal were even harder for me to push than on the candyshell, although the sleep/wake on the candyshell is PERFECT and tactile.

i think ill just keep it but get a power support crystal protector for the screen...this screen protector seems a tad small.

The IS plus Reveal doesn't really look good IMO because of the watermarks, but like you said you want to add the thin layer so no dust would get in it.

I have had both cases and this one is much thinner than the slider. I'm not a fan of the sliders because of the damage the do to the back of your phone.

Pro and Cons for this Case....
Pros -
*Can barely tell there is a case on it with a black iPhone
*Super slim protection. Adds barely any bulk
*Rubber rim around the bezel allows you to lay the phone on a table face down and not have the glass touch it.
*Can still see part of the beautiful chrome.
Cons -
*Clear plastic scratches VERY easy. You can cough on it and it will scratch.
*Bottom part of bezel below home button is exposed.
*Phone is snug, but it slightly moves around in the case. If you look at the right angle you can see through the ear jack. You can easily push the phone back up to close the gap though.
Overall, It is a really nice case. I really like how you can barely tell that I have a case on the phone. It shows off the beauty of the iPhone design. My biggest complaint is the clear back scratches so darn easily. That is to be expected though. Kind of still deciding if I also want to pick up an Incase Slider or Seido Innocase...

Other than the little gap issue, I really like this case. The clear back does scratch easily, but I'd rather the case be scratched than the phone. The only thing I do not like about this is that I had to pretty much give up on my 3g dock, whereas with the Incase Slider I could still use it. I guess I'll have to look around for another dock. Anyone know of one that would work OK with this case on?

I got the same email. I guess everyone went out and bought this case. They probably got a lot of orders over the weekend.
I am not sure if I should cancel the order or not since they gave us no estimate. I feel nervous about carrying my phone around without a case.

Went to my Apple store on a hunch tonight and they had ONE of these left. I was going to settle on a Power Support Air Jacket just for minimal protection of the back and get new screen protectors but I found this and got it instead. For 24.99 it's worth it. I love it - the iPhone looks slick in this case. I'm not worried about the slight gap issue with the headphone port or the back scratching - this will protect the phone just fine The bottom is the bottom - it'll get damaged in any case because it has to be somewhat exposed.
I'm pleased with my purchase.

I went ahead and got an SG Ultrathin as my interim case. It was only $12 and should provide adequate protection until my Reveal comes...eventually.

Has anyone had their Reveal long enough for it to get scratched up?
If so, can someone post some photos of the scratches?
I'm thinking about buying one, but my concern is how easy it is to scratch and how obvious the scratches are on the clear back cover while on the black iPhone.

Reveal arrived today. Like everyone else, the top has a gap. You can see the case kinda lifting out. So the chrome and top of the iPhone is not flush at all. Everything else is good but this flaw is bad. Over time the gap will get larger and larger as the rubber breaks in and gets looser. I'm going to try and return mine.

Ok, so I used to hate any sort of phone case. I thought people that used them were ridiculous, clumsy or both. Over 15 years or so I've tried cases a couple times on different phones. They never lasted more than a day or two before I threw them away. I went 'naked' on my 2G for the full two years although I had film on the glass (for the feel -- I actually like it more). Never, ever dropped the phone once. People at work would look at my phone and couldn't believe it was two years old. No joke, it looks like it's a month or two old. Good luck? Maybe. I wasn't overly careful with it.
I picked up my 3GS yesterday and didn't think twice about getting a case. The thing is though that the 3GS does feel a lot different (thinner) than the 2G. I immediately started to miss the metal back feeling of the old phone. The 3GS felt like it would slip out of my hand coming out of my pocket.
I saw the reviews for the Reveal last night and watched the YouTube videos. I had to pick up a new set of anti-glare film today, so on a whim, I took a chance and bought the case.
This case completely changed my mind about cases!!
This has to be the best case ever.
It makes (in my mind) the phone feel exactly as it should. Just ever so slightly thicker and a less slippery feel with the rubber edges. It also makes the phone feel more substantial (in a very good way). It's not thick, at all, and at a glance you wouldn't think anything was on the phone at all.
I absolutely love it and highly recommend it, especially to people who normally wouldn't consider any sort of case. It does look like the back will scratch easily, but isn't that the point? To protect the phone which looks like it would scratch even easier (god I wish they had the metal finish again).
Next time I'm at the Apple store I'm picking up another one to keep at the house. It's that good. Had the 3GS been in the same case as the 2G I wouldn't have bothered, but this case really is the icing on an already very tasty cake.

So the rubber top of the case is flush with the top front of your iPhone? Mine bulges out, so it doesn't even touch the top middle of the iPhone.

rubber cases absorb shock rather than transfer it like hard cases. plus they're easier to remove.
some people say they hold moisture in and therefore are bad, but any case you put on is going to hold moisture more than just a bare phone. the plus of silicon and other rubber cases is that you can get it off, shake it around to get any excess moisture out, then slap it back on.
if you're that paranoid about moisture get the otterbox waterproof one. cant remember the link, but i'm sure you can google it. :D

Is it possible that people who have cases with the gap actually bought fakes? Did anyone get one (with a gap) from griffin or from the apple store? I really want to get one but am paranoid I'll get stuck with a dud.
I got mine at one of the retailers on Amazon. Since Griffin was out of stock at the time. Looks like the real deal to me, packaging and all.

I got the last one at the Grove Apple Store (Los Angeles). So far I love it, there is no gap on the top of mine. It does have some small watermarks but they don't bother me. I may try to decorate the back of my white iPhone with vinyl material and use this reveal case to protect it. So far I am very happy.Could you be so kind and post a couple of photos of the case with your white iPhone?:)
I'm really considering ordering one, but I have not a good idea how it would look with the black sides and white back... Thanks a lot in advance!
EDIT: Never mind, how could I miss this video?! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLvaQ8g5Qrc) Anyway, more material is still welcom! :p

I just purchased the griffin reveal from the apple store and it is exactly what I have been looking for. I have used it for the whole day and when I was getting out of my car I forgot that my 3gs was on my lap. So it fell hard on the concrete. The phone had no damage at all. The griffin reveal had a scratch on the corner but I'm happy that it did what it should do which is protect my phone!

I decided to grab the Reveal while @ the Apple store last night. (I was using a RebelSerpent prior to this case.)
I like it, sometimes I forget there's a case on the phone. A few things though;
Coming from the RebelSerpent, which was bulky, I felt like the phone was unbreakable, switching to a much thinner case, I'm more paranoid about my phone now. Also, there is a small gap at the top as others have mentioned, not a big deal, but it's there. And I feel the case doesn't hug the phone as tightly as it should, sometimes I can feel the phone shift a tiny bit.
Oh, the back already has a couple of light scratches, but I guess that's to be expected.
All in all, I like it, though I kinda want to try an iSkin Solo. I think part of it is always looking for the better case. I should just be satisfied with what I have. :|

I also had a small gap at the top, but I did what an earlier poster here did (or rather what his wife did). I took the case off, pushed/bent the top in a little bit and then re-installed the case. Voila - no visible gap whatsoever. If I push straight down on the top of the case just to the left of the sleep button, the top of the case does flex in a bit, indicating that there is still a small gap inside the case, but I don't really care since it's not visible.
As for scratches on the clear back, on the one hand, an earlier poster had it right - if you so much as look hard at the case back, it will scratch. After only 2 days of sitting on my desk and going in and out of my jean pockets (with nothing else inside them), the case back on my black iphone looks exactly like the paint on a badly swirl marked car when it catches the light just so. Ordinarily that would drive me batty, but for whatever reason with this case it doesn't bother me at all. I also just tried my already scratched up case on my wife's white iphone, and the scratches were MUCH less visible than on my black iphone.
As for watermarking, I have 2 small pinhead sized watermarks (iphone is bare - no zagg or other film). Really bugged me at first but I've already mostly forgotten about them, probably because they're only noticeable if I'm staring closely at the case back.
Couple other things to note:
First, more so than any other case I've tried or looked at, this case preserves the look and feel of the bare phone. That can be a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for. If you want more grip than the bare phone provides - look elsewhere (rubber, silicone or matte/soft touch polycarbonate cases like the slider, feather, etc. would be better choices). If you want the phone to stand out more visually, again, look elsewhere. If anything, this case subdues the looks a bit because it covers most of the chrome bezel with a matte rubber border. Personally, I think the matte rubber border with the sliver of chrome bezel showing looks killer - better in fact than the bare phone when viewed straight on.
Second, this case actually looks and feels slimmer than its already slim 1.4mm specs. Part of that is, I think, an optical trick resulting from the clear back and matte rubber border, and part of that is due to the slick curved feel of the case back which mimics the feel of iphone case back. That said, in a side by side comparison with a bare iphone, the 1.4mm is definitely noticeable.
Finally, my completely unscientific uninformed assessment is that this case offers a great compromise between slim-ness (if that's even a word) and protection. As noted above, it's very slim/sleek both in terms of actual specs and look and feel, but seems to me to offer considerably more protection than, for example, the Incipio feather, both because it has a slight lay on table design and because it's at least 40% thicker than the Feather (1.4mm v sub-1mm). That may, however, be somewhat offset by the fact that it is a much more slippery case than the matte/soft-touch Feather and therefore more prone to being dropped or knocked around.

I randomly came across a post on another site on another case that mentioned the baby powder trick and thought I would try it out on my case. I did it to both the back of the phone and the inside of the case, reinstalled and what do you know - no watermarking whatsoever. I only had a couple small watermarks as it was which didn't bother me, but now they're completely gone. So if the watermarking bothers you, give it a try, although YMMV.

Well, Apple shipped my Reveal this morning, so I guess they must have some in stock despite the 1-2 weeks quoted.

What is the baby powder trick? Do I just apply baby powder to the back of the iphone? Wont there then be a white layer of powder?
There are a few different recommended methods for applying the baby powder. One person recommends puffing a cloud of powder over the phone and another recommends applying it with a cotton ball and then wiping it off with a clean cotton ball. The important thing is to use an incredibly small amount of powder. I did a slight variation on the cotton ball method - I used a couple clean unused makeup brushes that I borrowed from my wife (I would think small craft/paint brushes would work just as well). Here's the step by step that I did: (1) Clean phone case back and inside of Reveal case with lens cleaner, making sure to blow out any lint/dust. (2) Put a very small dusting of powder on a lint free surface (I used camera lens cleaning paper). (3) Dab the first brush in the powder and lightly brush the entire phone caseback and inside of the Reveal, re-dabbing as necessary. You should see a very fine layer of powder on the phone caseback (if your phone is black - if it's white you won't see anything) and in the Reveal at this point (hint - it helps to place the Reveal on a black surface when doing this - otherwise you won't be able to make out the powder on the clear surface). (4) Use the second brush to brush away the powder from both the phone caseback and the Reveal. (5) Re-install the case. The whole process should take no more than a couple minutes.

Don't know what you mean by "whatnot" but scratches on the Reveal are definitely not as visible with a white phone. No pics though.

None of the included Dock fitters fit. So I took a small piece of foam and stuck it to the back of the dock. The phone is not as stable as I liked on it, but it works.
A dremel would make for a better fit with one of the included dock fitters. .

How funny. I got my Griffin Reveal case the day before the 3GS launch and got the Simplifi dock on launch day. Much like you, I found that none of the dock connectors would work with the case, so I purchased some from Agent 18.

They came with one black and one white dock connector that fits the Reveal case, which was great because I have a black iPod clock and the white for the Simplifi dock.
One thing I do notice about the Simplifi - it doesn't always make a connection when I connect the iPhone. Sometimes I have to do it 2 or 3 times before the dock can see the iPhone. Do you have this problem? I think it's just a defective dock and I'm trying to work with Griffin to get a replacement.

I have had the Reveal on my White iPhone 3Gs since launch day.
This case scratches so easily. It is unbelievable how many scratches are on it and I think I take pretty good care of it.
I had the 2G without a case for years and had one or two minor scratches on it.
Although to me scratches on the case don't really matter, that is what I bought it for.

Did you try the Clarendon store? I live a couple blocks from that store and am thinking about picking up one tonight after work if they have any.
Also, referring to the people that say that have a small gap in their case. Do you think maybe adding a full skin to the phone would help fill that gap? It would also help protect the phone from dust, scratches, etc.

Hi Folks!
Like many others, I've had the same problem with a slight gap at the top of the Griffin Reveal case, which has bugged me as a possible route in for dust and debris. I thought you might like to know about the solution to this problem that has worked perfectly for me.
I removed my iPhone 3GS from the case and warmed the top rubber edge of the case with a hair drier until it became quite warm and much softer. I then placed two rubber bands around the empty case, running from top to bottom. They were fairly tight, so that they held the warm rubber in a bent down position.
I then left the set-up to thoroughly cool for 20 mins before removing the bands. After removal, the rubber at the top of the case had "set" in the bent down position.
I put my iPhone back in the case and I am happy to report that the rubber now grips the phone tightly and evenly all the way round. No gap at all.
I hope that gives enough info for anyone else who wants to try this solution, but if you have any questions please ask!
Cheers,

I bought both the candyshell and the reveal and I think I'm going to be returning the reveal, the candyshell is a lot more solid and protects better even though theres a little more bulk.
candyshell is nice but prone to cracking along the bottom (the thin piece in front of the dock connector)
the red rubber lining the outside of the case is the only thing holding mine together after a week, the plastic is completly cracked through
might want to keep the reveal as a backup

The 3G S is my first iPhone & my first "smart phone" in fact & I love it. I wanted a case that didn't add bulk & I'm too old for some neon colored thing. I had an invisible skin on an old 30 gig video iPod but hated how it made the iPod "grippier" feeling. I eventually took it off and of course the iPod got scratched like crazy. Also with something like the invisible skin & with the water sensors on the iPhone in such exposed locations I would worry about using the water to apply the skin.
The Griffin Reveal is the best case I have found for those not wanting to change the look & feel of the iPhone too much. I ordered it directly from Griffin with a 20% off code & free shipping, about a week before the release of the 3G S. I was told it wouldn't ship until mid July & they suggested I look for it at a local Apple store. I did find one at the local Apple store & bought it even though it was a bit more expensive. I like this case so much that I think I'm going to let Griffin ship me the one I ordered from them. Yes the back of the case is getting scratched, but I don't care so much about that because it's keeping the phone from getting scratched. And if the case starts to look too bad I'll have a back up. I'm the type to keep a phone 2-3 years so I'm sure I'll need the 2nd case eventually.

From my experience no BB had it, nor an empty place for one. Just the Clarifi and the Elan.
I got mine and I've had it for a few days. At first there was a gap at the top but it has since gone away. There's one spot on the back that water marks, very small. The back scratches very easily and I don't like the bottom being exposed but otherwise I think I like it better than my 2G Incase Slider.
And to the person who's going to switch between a Reveal and a Slider I would put the Slider on and leave it. Taking it off and on is what's going to scratch it.

I just got mine today and really love the fit on my black 32GB 3GS. To prevent the back of the case from getting scratched up, I installed BSE simple back skin for iPhone on the back of the Griffin Reveal case. Now, I have a great case that won't get scratched up so my iPhone's beauty is "revealed".:D

May I ask, did you order from the Griffin website? Apple online? or a local store? And if you don't mind, when did you also order?
One last question: No watermarks with a skin on a Griffin Reveal???

I ordered from the Apple store...it stated that it will ship in 1-2 weeks because it is out of stock but I got it after a week. With BSE on the outside of the Griffin case, not the phone (I used the simple back skin), it is very clear and I don't see watermarks so it protects the back of the Griffin Reveal case from getting scratched, and I can see the iPhone logo very clearly.

If your asking about something like Gelaskins, then yes. I have mine on when I had the Reveal. It framed the image perfectly. I returned the Reveal because of the gap and ordered another one. Hopefully the new one is better or I'll try the fix posted by "stephenthemac" above.
let us know how it goes. since im past the 14 day apple store return policy, i'll have to contact Griffin if it is an actual problem. thanks!

Rayfire, if you're looking for clear case, you must consider the watermark issue,
i'm still waiting for clear version of the incase frame... but in the mean time i think the agent18 is a nice choice.
anyway the luxe (not the clear one) is a great slider, the coating inside make huge difference from the rest.
the clear-top and crystal versions doesn't have any protection from the inside so no shock absorbing and its still have the watermark issue like the reveal.

I've had 2 clear cases so far, PS Clear Air Jacket and Griffin's iClear, both however didn't last after long use. I've seen some reviews of the Reveal case against a white iPhone that shows watermarks because there was a skin at the back of their iPhone. I'm hoping someone could post a white iPhone, no back skins, with this case on it. If that shows no watermarks, I might settle with it.
So far I'm using the iFrogz Luxe case, also satisfied with this case. I'm thinking of swapping the Luxe and Reveal (from time to time) once I'm decided that the Reveal does offer nice aesthetics without watermarks at the back.

Here are some pics of the black iPhone in the Griffin Reveal case. I re-used the simple back BSE that I took off from my iPhone and put it on the back of the Reveal case...so you can see a few bubbles on the left lower corner. I am sure if you use a brand new Simple Back BSE on the Griffin Reveal, it will come out perfect.

I ordered the Reveal direct from Griffin early last week. I went through their webform to ask about backorder status, & a couple days later received an email saying my order wouldn't ship until first week of August (maybe they are under-promising delivery to me?). Anyway, the replying CS rep even went so far as to say "it's a long wait, so let us know if you want to cancel if you can find one elsewhere." The Reveal has become my personal unicorn!! Anyways, I'm gonna wait it out as I had a promo code that made it only $20 shipped... I am currently using a Power Support Air Jacket (that I'm still kicking myself for spending $40 shipped, and I probably won't even use the included screen protectors)...
Oh, and thanks for the tip above for using the BSE on the Reveal case itself..ordered a simple back from BSE today (which apparently I'll have for weeks before I get my Reveal, LOL).

Personally, I really like this case because it shows of the back of the iphone and it has the hybrid hard plastic+rubber design. However, Because of the tiny movement at the top of the case, I do have some scratches on the top bezel. It is not a big deal to me because the chrome will scratch eventually, but the good thing is that this case actually protected my phone from any damge when I dropped it from getting out of my car. I forget that I had my phone on my lap, so when I get out my iphone spun vertically like a ninja star smashing on the concrete. The griffin reveal had some damage on the silicone edge but when I removed the case to examine my phone it was prestine. Anyways this is why I reccommend this case, it has drop protection, it is not bulky, and it shows off the back of the phone. I just ordered a wrapsol skin to add an extra layer of shield to go on the back of my phone in combonation with the reveal. I hope it wont leave watermarks!:)

i was thinking and if it wraps up around the side of the phone i don't think it will work without messing it up on install cause the one side seems to snap into place. so i think this will stretch the guard as it is pushed into place on the one side.

If it covers the whole back and sides, it will be a tight fit and I am almost certain that it will show watermarks.
This is why I peeled off the skin from the back of my iPhone and placed it on the back/exposed clear part of the Griffin Reveal.

I did some searching and I don't think these questions have been answered here. Sorry if they were.
1) Has anyone used the screen protector that comes with the Reveal? How does it compare to SGP and PS?
2) Is the screen protector crystal or anti-glare? The OP mentioned in his video that he thought it was an anti-glare screen protector, but reviews at the bottom of this page (http://store.apple.com/us/product/TW322VC/A) say that it's a crystal screen protector. I'm thinking it's most likely a crystal screen protector because the idea of the case is to "reveal" the iphone's awesome design.
3) Does the screen protector that comes with the Reveal diminish the iphone's touch screen sensitivity?
iLounge's July 18, 2008 review (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/griffin-wave-case-for-iphone-3g/) of the Griffin Wave Case says:
More importantly, Griffin has replaced last year’s static peel screen protector with a new non-adhesive version that we didn’t like as much. Though it does a good job of looking inconspicuous relative to the case and the iPhone 3G inside, it slightly diminishes the iPhone 3G touch screen’s sensitivity and doesn’t feel as good as the prior version around the Home button; we would strongly prefer a static peel cover as an alternative.
Has anyone experienced this with the Griffin screen protectors?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, especially with the rubber on the sides. It's just enough to give some grip when you hold it. It's not going to come squirting out like a bar of soap.
But it's also not enough to make going in and out of your pocket an all day affair.

Great review video and a nice looking case, but after dealing with watermarks on my white 3g s with the air jacket I went with the Incipio feather (one red, one white). A telling fact for me is that I put the red cover on over two weeks ago and haven't taken it off once. With all my other covers/cases, they were on and off constantly as I debated which one I liked the best. So far I've used:
Sena Ultra-Slim Pouch
Sena Corsa
InCase Slider
Air Jacket (clear)
Incipio Feather (red)
Incipio Feather (white)
From reports on this site, I may be sending my white Feather back if it quickly gets stained as it has for many others. I'd love to find something like the Reveal with a with edge for my white phone.

That's my exact concern with this case. Although it's tempting, that is why I haven't ordered it yet.
I've been using the iFrogz Luxe for the past couple of weeks, and so far my 3GS is still in perfect condition. It's the felt that protects the back.....

I just got my reveal in the mail and it has some fairly significant water marking as well a gap between the silicone at the top and the bezel. Disappointing.

I just got mine in the mail and I really like it! I love how it shows the back of the phone, while still protecting it. I have a little watermarking near the camera, but it doesn't bother me too much. Compared to my slider, I like how it's more minimalist, and shows the chrome bezel a little bit. My only complaint is that it is a little difficult to take off. Anyone else think so too? It's like I get one corner off, and when I'm working on the second, the first pops back into the case. I'm not skilled at removing it yet :(
I took some pictures of it and will post later. Buy this case if you haven't already!

does yours fit well or have that gap at the top??
also, for those who did have the gap, how did you fix it? I've heard a few ways but I don't know the best one.

Can I ask, which adapter for the Universal Dock do you use for an iphone with the Griffin Reveal case on it?
Thx, very much.

This is precisely why I use a BSE on the back of my phone. Its makes it a bit tighter in the iFrogz Luxe but I like the added protection. I intend to keep the BSE if and when I eventually get my Reveal.

Yeah, there's a little gap. Nothing major though. It's too be expected since the top is just rubber and no plastic.

Cheers,
Stephen
This totally works! I have no more gap :) Try this if you haven't to fix the gap!

same with me. I get pocket "dirt" and the like all in the upper part of the phone. going to try the hair drier "mod" and ssee if that helps
the case does not take a beating well. after I guess 3 weeks of use the back is scratched pretty good. Ill see if pictures come out so that you can see them. I had sunscreen orsomething on my hand and it screwed with the plastic.
Im not dissatisfied with the cover yet....I just think i might not be the type of person who uses something like this.

so mine came today and it doesn't have the gap at the top. and to help protect the back i cut my invisible shield and slapped it on there. gives it a little more grip too. the screen protector that came with it seems pretty good to, didn't have any problems. think i'm going to like this case.

I was at The Grove tonight, and the Apple Store there has a plethora of Reveals. I saw around a dozen on display.
I decided to buy one and see what the fuss is all about. I have 14 days to return it, so it was a no risk purchase. I'll let everyone know what i think (I'm sure you all can't wait.....)

Ordered one from Griffin a month ago...have not gotten it yet. I called the nearest Apple store and they held one for me. When I got there the girl told me it was the last one they had. Lucky me.
My initial thoughts are very positive. I had a Griffin Elan Form leather case that I replaced with the Reveal. Much thinner, and much nicer. It is like barely having anything on it at all, but yet I know it is there as a constant barrier between my phone and the cruel world. I am going to do the hairdryer mod on it tomorrow after I give my 3GS a good cleaning (I threw it on quickly at the Apple stor ewhile my 4 year old played on a Mac).
I am still going to keep the one I get from Griffin (if I ever get it).

:)I just got my wrapsol skin for the back of my 3gs and im using it with my griffin reveal. It does not leave watermarks because the wrapsol is a matte skin instead of the orange peal types like best skin ever. Also, now that I have the wrapsol on, I no longer have a gap on the top of the case.

I've seen one of your posts that this case indeed collects dust (from the upper portion) but you like its minimal size and how the back is shown. So what's your verdict then?

No verdict yet. I've only had it for 2 days now. At this point I like it.
It's so slim. Fits in my clip on case that I use at the gym very well. Slips in and out of my pocket well. Better grip than when case-less. I like these things.
The power button is difficult to press (but seems to be getting easier as time goes on). I also have a stubborn watermark near the camera. I don't like those things.
The jury is still out, but at this point the positives are outweighing the negatives.

i wonder if its worth contacting griffin over for the movement issue. its not a huge deal, but i might as well. Dust definitely does get underneath the case, but i dont think its damaging the actual bezel...more like damaging the underside of the case. i bet a back skin would resolve both of these issues, though. the power button gets easier to press over time, but the volume buttons are definitely kind of annoying with this case.
still, i like it because I dont see any better clear alternatives. Maybe if i decide on using a colored case later on i will switch, but not at this point.

Mine fits fine, there's no watermarking, and though the power button is a bit of a push (not a major problem), what I do like best is that the case provides a much surer grip than otherwise. I'm perfectly happy with it.

I constantly get dust through the headphones hole. it doesnt appear to line up right and you see the chrome for it. I jsut havent found something else yet that is better than this case. after I guess 3 weeks now the power button being hard to press down I didnt notice....but the case is definitely "looser" than it was when I first got it. the top of the case acts like a scooper for dust and such when I take it out of my pocket

I used this case for about two weeks. I first used it on my white iPhone 3G. I recently upgraded to a black 3G S. It looked much better with the white. This case scratches very easily, and on a black iPhone, you can see the scratches more. The white iPhone hid the scratches better. I now used the new version of the incase slider (flat black) but not sure if I'm going to keep that either.

I have light scratches all over mine now. a few weeks old and mine is kinda beat up. I have a black phone so you can see it when tilted in the light. I tried to take a picture but cant get it to come out. if you have a white phone they dont show up at all. that being said its the best cause for what I want out there. I might try the speck candy shell but this will do for now.

I'd say it scratches pretty easily. Sadly, I have scratches on it already, and I don't know how they got there. My iPhone has been in my pocket, in my case, and has sat screen-down on a table. Here are some close-up photos. You can clearly see the watermark near the camera and some of the accumulated dust (especially on the 2nd photo). I purposely did not wipe the fingerprints off of the case before I took the photos. If you click on each picture, it will show you an even closer view (click again for an even closer view).

Thanks for the pics Surely. Appreciate it, I can see how my white iPhone will go in now (somehow)
So the scratches on the case can be prevented by installing a BSE simple back, now I'm worried about the dust that gets in especially against a white iPhone. I guess I have to stick with iFrogz Luxe until they fix their case.

Hey, no worries. I was curious to see if the scratches would show up if I photographed the case.
I'm starting to lean back towards the iFrogz Luxe that I have. I'll give the Reveal another day or two though.... and then probably return it.
