Why on earth isn't this stuff available day one? Everyone picked up their brand spanking new 3G S today and they have no updated IM app to use.

Com'on I'm tired of refreshing the App Store every 10 minutes looking for updated!:eek:

How do you get over 500 posts and not even consider looking at the first page before posting?

The reason I started another thread (and yes I saw the other post, I am all over this page) is because I'm talking about AIM as well as Beejive and this is a general rant about Apple taking too long.

Geez calm down post nazis.

So we should start a thread for every app we think should have been updated by now?

Because clearly you're going to get a lot more info here by including AIM than anyone already knows in the other threads. Go you.

Side note: it's amazing to me with which the term 'Nazi' is casually thrown around as a perfectly okay insult for even minor grievances like being corrected on one's message board propriety. Are we that vulgar?

I wasn't looking for more information, I simply wanted to rant and let others to do so as well. If this is such a big deal for you people then just let the thread die. I didn't think there would be such a uproar.

I think most people seem to be quite capable of getting themselves all frothed up without any extra help.

Seriously though, in the grand scheme of things, is a couple of days really screwing your world that badly? IM apps and other push driven apps will get approved sooner or later, and most likely sooner, once Apple finish churning through 50,000 odd updates.

I must be really missing something, 'cos I just can't see any of this as really being that big a deal.

Thanks for confirming my point, and missing it all at the same time.

Critical thinking also seems to have gone by the wayside on the Internet.

Does it help if I add a bunch of emoticons at the end of the post?

Mostly likely Push isn't ready for primetime yet. That's why they haven't approved any of the really big applications except for AP News, which has only sent a very few amount of alerts anyway. I'm hoping they get it sorted out soon.

Embarrassing if true. They promised this a year ago and they are still having problems? How did the beta testing go with AIM?

Push *is* working. WeatherAlert is currently bombing my Touch with storm warnings[1].

Apple is either rolling apps out slowly, and monitoring their systems carefully, or they're just backlogged with the huge list of apps being resubmitted for 3.0 compatibility.

[1] to the point where frankly I'm starting to feel like "yeah I get it, it's the apocalypse, now shut the crap up and leave me alone."
