LaCie external drive

my external drive recently has disappeared off my desktop in osx. when i go to os9 i can mount it there but when i return to osx it is not there. its a scsi drive using an adaptec 2906 card. any solutions? :confused:

I have had the same probelm when i dont eject my firwire drive properly.. when i plug it back in it doesnt recognise it.

I found that turning the PB off then turning it on again later works cos then when i plug it back in it seems to register it.
