I went to the store on 5th avenue with one 16gb 2nd Gen iPod Touch with the original packaging AND proof of purchase. I spoke to an employee and he asked what was I here for. I said I am here to get my iPod Touch jailbroken. He said I will not do that for you, sir. I asked to see a manager and he said under no circumstances will we do that to your iPod. I gathered a list of all the local Apple Stores and hopefully they will jailbreak my iPod Touch.
Damn :apple: why did you make me  and :( but if I find a store to do this I will be :D and then Apple will always make me :) but I hope I dont ever have to  because of the great :apple:

use this http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=727532 it has a video explaining and showing how to do it with the new redsnow application which can be downloaded here
http://redsn0w.com/
Its very simple anyway. You just download redsnow run it and follow the instructions.

I knew this was going to be a dumb thread the second I saw all the emoticons. Then I read the content, and the emoticons didn't nearly prepare me for the stupidity I had read. He needed to use 5-10 more emoticons to properly alert me of the stupid post context.
Obviously, sir, you know nothing about jailbreaking if you thought Apple would handle that for you.

I agree. I wonder if they got your serial number if they would cancel your warrenty? Probably not though because it only on suspicion of being jailbroken.

I saw the title and couldn't believe it. I can just picture the reaction of the person at the Genius bar, where right now they are overwhelmed with people. I don't know if he would laugh or simply ask you to leave.

I don't have a clue how you would expect Apple to assist you in doing something that is not supported by them and certainly frowned upon.
Also, if you don't know how to do it, nor have the confidence to perform it, perhaps you should leave your touch alone.

Reminds me of the time I went to the RIAA offices and asked them how to download Green Day's latest album off Bittorrent.

its legal but they still don't want you doing it because you could brick your ipod and they don't want to fix it. (you can brick an ipod by the way by downloading and installing the iphone firmware on it)

If you can't figure out how to Jailbreak, then you're better off not Jailbreaking.

The problem is that you will be one of first/loudest to cry about how apple "sux" because they won't support you when something goes wrong!
Please stay away from jailbraking if you can't handle even handle a google search....
