Please make a matte screen available. PLLEEEAAAASSSSEEEE.
I really, REALLY need to replace my computer, but cannot stand using a mirror screen. It is not even an option I can consider. But I really want to buy a new Macbook Pro. I promise to buy one the instant you make a matte screen available - or at least a screen instead of a mirror.
Thanks.

I'd like to see some reviews on this.
Actually, I'd be happy with the glass removal only but that would require replacing the whole bezel.

I gotta say I agree. Just returned my MBP 13 and got an older 15" MBP with a matte screen... it's amazing how much nicer it is.

Well, if my current pre-unibody MacBook Pro ever bites the dust and is replaced under AppleCare, I'll give it a shot. I need my photo computer to have a matte screen.

Not doing Techrestore. They butcher the thing and the quality of the screen does not seem on par with the OEM screen - look at the pics:

I don't get why some people just can't let others express their preferences/wishes without being dismissive. If you don't care about this, please don't interject yourself into it. I also want Apple to return to offering a non-shiny screen on their MBP line. If we keep hammering on the subject long enough (even if it makes you sick...) maybe Apple will listen. The old "squeaky wheel" concept...
Meanwhile, if you got what you want and can't be supportive of others who also want what they want, then please be decent enough to just let it go without comment... does that sound fair?

If you only read a couple threads down you would have came across some very accurate information.
Apple doesn't care about matte. End of discussion; there won't be any option for matte.

That was my initial observation. I still think purely removing the glass would be fine for me. I have an older MBP that I got replaced and my choice was what the store had in-stock and it was glossy. It isn't bad at all. That glass kills the new MBP's IMO. Especially the black bezel/glass combo.

Man, do these people do photo editing in a damn field outside or something?
I have no problems with my screen as far as glare, and I do photo editing fairly often. I'm not a pro by any means, but I have ZERO issues with glare.
You can get anti-glare films to put over the screen as well, which help a lot if it is a problem...
