IMO, it's a valid argument to say you prefer the 3G to the 3GS because it's cheaper or because you already have one and don't want to upgrade, but I can't think of any objective argument that would put a 3G ahead of a 3GS:

The 3GS has everything the 3G has, is exactly the same size, has the same external appearance and adds better battery life, faster processor, twice the memory, up to twice the storage capacity, a compass and an oleophobic screen. In what way can the 3G possibly be better than a 3GS?
