Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

To be anonimus I think would be better, not for any special reason... BUT I think that creating in your mind the picture of the others is very fun. To place your picture is like falling in to a reality.

I knew this thread was coming up but in my case, I prefeer to imagine all you in place of looking at you.

That sense of "invisibility" is one of the most attracting and caracteristic things about the internet.

I do not know, may be is just me.

I preffer to describe you by your coments. The world would be a better place if we would share with each other and relate with each other from what we are, not from how we looks like.

BTW, I'm not saying that because I'm ugly, I have been in 10 different tv comertials and in several runaways when I had hair on the top of my head:cool:

I also eat 4 times a day and exercise regularly...so that's part of it... ;)

Unfortunately I am, too.:(

260 here (ouch)...it doesn't show much on my 6'4" frame, but 215 or so is a better weight for me.

This whole full-time deskjod thing is tough to get used to...but at least I'm 23 (24 in August) and it should come off quickly once I get back into a workout routine.:D

let us know how you make progress from 260 to 215...that is a lot of weight to lose but you do have the advantage of height to hide it

b) working a new 3D animation job all day
c) finalizing my demo reel to secure future 3D animation positions

40MB is fine... for those of use with high speed internet connections that is. Offer it up in three size formats, small, medium, and holy *****!! (10MB, 20MB and the original 40MB). That would be better then killing the quality, or image size just because some people are stuck in the 80's with dial-up internet.    :P :D

mental ability isn't like running the 100yard dash...there just isn't a set field of reference...and to ask every person the same set of questions while expecting the same set of answers is really insulting...

and then everyone wonders why there is so little innovation and thinking outside of the box when the scholastic powers that be have spent years rewarding and promoting those that think inside the box.

and the sad thing is...its just gonna get worse when we tie teacher's salaries and promotions to the test scores of their students. from day one students will be taught how to take a test and not how to think.

Too late...it's already that way in some schools in CA.

Teachers have to teach to the test for the SAT-9s for elementary students.

I completely agree that these "standardized" tests are a test of how well you know a test and can take it...not your knowledge in general.

Sad thing is that test taking is a skill, and a necessary one up through college.

Here's my real pic. Not my kid, a friend's little sibling. Plus I was really tired. You can see why I was reluctant to post it. I look terrible, but it's the best pic I have on my computer. I have a scanner, but I need a new camera (Sony digital, soon to be bought).

I wish I could find those pics of my ex-gf in her underwear. Those were great. But no matter what she did to me, I still can't be that mean. At least she finally stopped calling me (nothing like a good restraining order).

God my life is a soap opera.

P.S. The DareDevil pic is because I was working on an adaption for it awhile ago. Long since forgot about it til I saw the Trailer on the Quicktime site. Starring Ben Afleck. Well at least he's a big fan, I've heard.

He better not screw it up.

I'll still say I could have done it better.

Well, kinda. I did have to threaten her with one. She wouldn't stop calling me all the freakin' time. Had to block her phone #, and her e-mail. And she has a boyfriend now, too.

But she misses me, and still wants to be friends, and complain about how her new BF doesn't understand her, and hit on me so she can feel better about herself. I'm a nice guy, but I'm not a sucker. Anymore.

Okay, getting a little too personal now.

ACT: 31 or 32 (can't remember exactly...)

SAT: 1270 (700M/570V)

When I took them, one test was important to schools on the coasts, and the other test was important to schools in the center of the country. Don't know if that's still the case.

About test taking:

In Arizona (just Maricopa County?) they made an incredibly stupid decision to require all high school students to take what is essentially a "graduation test," at the end of their senior year. If they didn't pass it, they couldn't graduate -- even if they had gotten straight A's in all classes. It was an incredible mess, and I think they have abandoned it (but I'm not sure). Even funnier -- critics of the test administered it to the teachers at the schools and at least 1/3 of them couldn't pass it.

hey, you are losing weight...good for you

nearly 25 years ago when i was thinking pre sat and sat, anything over 12 would start looking like a ticket to a baby ivy

...but your scores would have gotten you into any of the elite eight ivey league schools...even if you achieved them as a freshman or sophomore in high school

i had a friend who got a waiver in 8th grade and got similar scores as you on the SATs (which were calibrated differently then...firty points lower or so) and he was accepted to johns hopkins university

he decided against it since he wanted to be with his friends thru high school...he also tested at 188 on the iq which put him in the top one percent in the nation...btw 135 on the iq puts you in the top two percent...and his sat in the 1300s or 1400s put him also in the top one percent in the nation

people like him are only found once, if ever, in any high school graduating class

in the end, he did not go to college due to financial struggles and basic fear of leaving home...he still lives there at age 38

but now he is getting certified by compTIA and microsoft and he has his eye set on cisco, and being in northern california, money will finally come his way and he won't really ever have to worry about a college degree

he will probably be better off than an equally gifted genius who did go to college but got their master's in sociology from columbia:p

That's a very interesting story about your classmate.

$$$ definitely played a big part in my collegiate decisions. I almost went to the Air Force Academy, I had the grades and test scores and the appointment from my Representative...but I failed an asthma test and was denied.

After that I was planning on going to CU Boulder...but the $25,000 a year in out-of-state tuition killed that one real quick.

So I waited a year after moving back to California from Hawaii, to get my CA residency, and enrolled at SDSU. I originally wanted to play collegiate volleyball, and my high school coach in HI had played in the Olympics with the coach at SDSU, so I had an "in" there. I tried out 3 years in a row and never made it onto the team, so I played club volleyball instead for a couple years and then did crew for 2.

I gotta say to all of you other "nerdy" guys out there: "Get involved in extracurriculars (sports, music, theater, etc) in high school and college."
They will make a big difference in your sanity level and ability to interact with people. Nothing for me was better than forgetting about homework while competing in a sport.:)

My weight loss at this point is mostly due to working overtime this week (playing catch-up after vacation  ) and not eating much. Not the best way to do it.

That's cool about your bro...playing with those guys must have been awesome!

It's kinda sad about the vball team down here. The atheletic dept was $3 million in debt, so they cut the team...which only uses $100K a year.

Stupid football team has a $13M budget, wins no games and therefore makes no $ for the school. Since Title IX stupulates that women's sports must receive equal funding as men's, the small men's sports programs are slowly dying. We already lost the men's track team a while ago. Golf and soccer are just barely hanging on.:(

I'm going back for grad school too, so I still have a little ways to go until I'm out of the woods. I'm getting my Master's degree in Educational Technology.

Mostly because of size/interest.

There weren't that many guys, and the fan base was probably even smaller. From an accounting perspective, there were a liability, as far as I can see.

It's sad when athletics comes down to money making for the school, rather than opportunities for the students.
