For all the other Wes Anderson Heads on the site, rejoice, the DVD has arrived. I watched it twice last night. Anyone else thrilled?

picked it up last night. haven't watched it yet, but it looks like the bonus footage is even better than on Rushmore.
this move rocks. glad it came out so quick. anyone know what Wes Anderson's next project is?
On a related note, Jason Schwartzman's band Phantom Planet is worth checking out. Their debut CD "The Guest" is infectious. I'm afraid I'm playing it too much...my wife is SICK of it.

it doesn't have owen wilson doing commentary which is a bit of a let down...
apparently it's pretty decent though, the dvd bonus footage that is...
but from what i've heard (from dignan) not as good as rushmore.....

Ok, im changing my tune a bit.
The IFC thing on wes was pretty awesome, great way to see how he works, his attention to detail
But I did kinda like eric doing the documentary on the rushmore dvd.
Deleted scenes arent too special
and outtakes is one outtake...
But, Still, its wes, its criterion, and its two discs. No complainin

I just visited three stores in my neighborhood. All of them were out of the Royal Tennenbaums.
Weak. :(

the royal t's was good but if you're a first time wes explorer-see rushmore or bottlerocket first.
there is a strange sort of trilogy feeling to them even though they are totally unrelated movies.

Rushmore is probably the place to start with Wes, I think its his most accessible. With these films, though, you're going to get them or not. There are not many people in between.

ok...good point...but it definitely had more of an deep, "artsy" appeal to it from it's trailer than the Royal Tennenbaums did...;)

couldn't have said it better myself.
you either love them and want to see em all over and over... or you just don't care and don't see how anyone gets so excited about it. most people don't hate them, but no one really says "it was pretty good...." one extreme or the other.

Actually "The Guest" is their second album. "Phantom Planet Is Missing" is their first album. I think it came out in '98 but am not positive.
Jason's younger brother Robert has band called Rooney that are playing around L.A.
