Imac CRT Monitor turns funny colors

My imac G3 has been doing some funky color shifting on the monitor, its mostly when it first starts up, but once in awhile it will turn green when its running. Is the monitor going out? any suggestions?

Sounds like the monitor might be going. Since the iMacs automatically degauss at startup and shutdown that shouldn't be a problem unless the degauss circutry is faulty. Otherwise it sounds like your one or two of the lasers might be going out. Probably time for an upgrade.

An out of date firmware can cause green monitor syndrome in anything later than Jaguar. Look up on Apple's Support Site.

Do you happen to have any big magnets (speakers, etc) near the computer?

There are no lasers in a cathode ray tube.
