Can i jailbreak on 3.0?

this is probably a noob question and has probably been asked thousands of times but i was wondering if i could jailbreak my iphone on 3.0. The reason why I want to jailbreak it is because this guy on youtube showed how you could disable your data plan with the jailbreak. There are some apps that i want to use that require 3.0 but i want to make sure i can jailbreak it before i update.

Have you tried googling "iPhone 3.0 jailbreak" you would have gotten a million sites show you exactly how (indicating the answer is yes). But yes, you can jailbreak 3.0 by using Redsn0w or Purplera1n.

Yes, you can. Which phone you have depends on which method you will have to use. If you have a 3GS then you can do the purplera1n method and you'll have a jailbroken phone in about 3 minutes total time with literally only one click. As far as a 2G or normal 3G phone, not sure which way you have to do them but I'm sure others on here can help with that.
