View Full Version : Annoying threads

Perhaps the only thing worse then the occasional iWalk thread is the threads that are nothing but someone saying : "If Apple doesn't release dual 2 gigahertz at MWNY I'm going to buy a Dell."
I really dobut that these people even have enough money to get a new Apple or Dell.

I hate threads where people moan and complain about the fact that their dual 800 tower cannot run some game at the uber-highest settings. They then continue to b!tch about how they are going to get rid of their Mac if a 1.5Ghz tower is not released. Gah.

that is one of the toughest jobs, its not like its self explanatory or anything...
not that the Mac is fabulous, just all most plug and play. If Apple doesn't make PC&Mac networking streamlined through Jaguar, I will severlly pissed.
I can see Apple&Dave in on it together....
though Apple would make more money (through sells) if their network was very easily cross platform

It would be cool though. Having a designation to match your avatar. Only problem is that by the time you reach G5 you'll be obselete ;)

There have been a few people posting like eye, or nearly as fast. Either those people are truly bored, or have set the iPod Breakout record. :D
Those people are bound to find out their G5 status soon, if they have not contributed. (Everyone points the finger at me...)
It may be a while before my parents and I cough up the dough (if you only think of it literally, you have some mental problem :D :D), as we have to pay off some other stuff for the house we bought.

This is community discussion, most of the threads here are pretty pointless anyway. ;) The problem is when they clutter up Hardware Rumors.;)

the big issue right now with the networking community is having os x work with windows nt in "all" or "most" aspects...windows 2000 is better in some way and worse in others
ms is not too worried about macs not being 100 percent compatible on their networks
some peripherals work well with os 9.x, but os x compatibility in all aspects will take some time
since i saw my first os x beta in 2000, i knew it would be five years before all mac users would switch over...but the progress makes me think that we will have it all wrapped up sometime in 2004
and by that, i mean, there will be no more os 9 or os 9 peripherals and no way to buy any photoshop or macromedia software which works with 9 or before
i do still see os 8.x for sale in the backs of magazines so the transition from os to os is a gradual thing
i am actually extremely happy with os 9.0 on my ibook and with 160 mb of ram, life is very stable and fast enough for most purposes
i would like to get an os x machine, g4 processor, in an ibook in 2003...if such a thing exists;)

So, hitman, you finally learned how to spell my name!
Let me just put it straight off the bat. I think that flamewars are the real battles among the forums that involve intense posting, emotions, etc. What hitmandog and I are doing is describing... but that's much lighter (maybe for him :D) than a typical flamewar, such as the ones spikey initiated a while back.
Let's wrap this up, mandog. I have sleeping to do for tomorrow's big ride home.

And I haven't been posting a lot recently. When I was at my peak, about a month ago it was over 18 post/day - scary actually.
But I've said it before and have to mention it here again - jello has the all time post record of over 200 in one 24 hour period. I managed a little over 160 the same day - now that was insane:D
