IRC Network: irc.newnet.net
channel: #macrumors

The MacRumors IRC channel will be around primarily for the Keynote event. People can watch the stream, chat and post news as it is streamed live. This should provide a bit more interactive medium and can provide up to the second updates for those without a stream.
As well, it will hopefully prevent the inevitable reload madness that can cause insane server loads.

Looks good arn. You might want to make this a sticky or post it on the main site.

I've downloaded snak and ircle, and both can no longer connect to irc.newnet.net but do connect to other servers, for a short while snak worked but now it doesn't. I thought it could be a problem with snak but now ircle doesn't connect either. Why?!??

I was chatting fine last night on the #macrumors channel but when I try to log on today I got refused connection due to no Ident response.
I am using Airport Base Station to DSL so I configure port forwarding for port 113 (IDENT). Still failed to connect as the port was reported closed. No firewall was running so what am I missing?
Thanks,
CZ
