There is no 17" powerbook with a combo drive ever. They only have superdrives, especially the new 1.5GHzs. The only way this could be is id you vioded your warrenty and replaced the super drive with a combo drive.

first, this is a 15" powerbook, not 17". Second, if you look at the specs, this is clearly a BTO machine. And when you get a machine BTO, you can replace the superdrive with a combo drive and save about $200.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to buy a 17". As for me, I'm selling a 15". Thanks for looking!

true, but he is correct on the 17" (althought it's not relevant in this thread's case). you cannot substitute a combo for superdrive on the 17

simmer down!!! apple.com does this cool thing for consumers called Build to Order... say it with me... buuuiiilllld tooooo ooorrrrrrdeeeerrrrrr...
plus its a 15".
