Wondering if there is any interest in this. It's pretty much stock except the RAM has been upped to 128 MB. Has no issues that I know of, but if you have specific questions I can check it out.

I'd like to see this go to a good home where it will actually get some use. The price is negotiable; I'm not looking to make a killing here. Post here or PM me if you're interested.

I am interested

however I am concerned as it will not support an airport card or firewire

I will be using it as a headless base station to serve mp3s and connect my scanner, cable modem, firewire drive and printer to.. then I can wander aimlessly via my powerbook.

I imagine that I could install a router and just netork it tradtionally.. as well as sell the firewire drive and just install a few internal drives... but will it run panther and the latest version of iTunes?

Am I missing anything? Let me know

you don't need an airport card for the beige. just plug the beige ethernet into the base station and put a card in your laptop. badda boom badda bing you're all set :)

hey Doctor,
sorry I forgot to reply for a while. Are you still interested? Is anyone else? Regarding your questions, I'm not really sure, to be honest. I think Panther will run on the Beiges, although apple does not officially support it. And if it runs Panther it will run the latest itunes.

If running Panther (xpostfacto might be needed?) a Linksys wireless G PCI will be supported just like having an Apple Airport card.

Ok, I've had quite a few inquiries about this powermac. As I said before, I don't really know what it's worth.

This is an open invitation for people to chime in with their thoughts on how much this is worth - I won't consider it thread crapping no matter the number, but your honest assessment only, please.

It is a powermac G3 266 desktop model, 4 GB hard drive, 128 RAM installed, CD/floppy/zip drives internal. The eject button on the cd drive is hard to push, but it does work. To my knowledge, the computer is in perfect working order besides that. Comes with mouse and keyboard if you want them, and all the discs and manuals I can find. I'll throw in the 15" CRT at no cost besides shipping if you want it, but the shipping is probably more than it's worth.

So if you're interested, please reply here or PM me. And even if you're not looking to buy, let me know what you think this computer is worth so I can give a quote to interested buyers.

This probably won't help you a great deal but I've seen these units go from $50 to $199 for a similar configuration... the $199 being a completely "Like-new" unit in every way, apparently. I think $65-80 is the average 'sweet spot' for a clean, good working unit.

still looking to sell this... there have been several people who've expressed interest, but no one following through...

$100 including shipping and insurance (it's heavy so shipping will be quite a bit) to the first taker... or make me an offer.
