I don't quite know what the excitement for 10.6 is all about.
Personally, after seeing what apple are claiming with this new os, i'm going to stick with 10.5. It requires a hell of a lot more ram (512mb more to be exact) and will probably be rather buggy to begin with.
I may upgrade my ram and get it in the future, but ill wait until 10.6.1, when they've cleared out some bugs.
I've got the slight feeling 10.6 going to be the mac equivalent to vista. I'd loved to be proved wrong.

If you don't care then don't upgrade. Simple.

so you don't care about 10.6 but you care about 10.6.1 to possibly get it?
If 10.5 is not the equivalent to Vista I don't see how 10.6 can be. Its basically the same OS just optimized with some additional developer tools and what not.
Your thread makes little to no sense.

i care, i think OS X leopard look really good, but i dont mind that they make it faster, and the price is so low that i dont understand why people complain that you get so little, OSX looks perfect so they focus on the stuff you can't see.

I care, but I'm not expecting too much of a change. Kind of like the iPhone OS 3.0. Much overhyped.

ProTools breaks if you look at it in the wrong way....
:)
Worst thing is that some of our plug-ins have 'only just' been released to support leopard, so finally we can upgrade the studio mac to leopard. As for SnowLeopard? Well going on similar timeframe, late 2010 is looking good. :o
As for who cares? Well the endless pages of speculation and threads answer that question. A lot of people do.

If the retailers in my area have the intelligence to order enough CD's to make it through the first day of sales (which is a humungous "IF"), I would gladly wait in a line for hours & wrestle a fat, hairy, gassy Lebanese man for the last copy just so that I could take it home & install it on Friday... so yes, I do care :D
