exactly, almost as if this is aimed as some people he knows who own macs and give him a hard time for owning a PC. it hasn't been updated in years, so I'm guessing it won't ever. I wouldn't mind finding out why he did it though and what he's doing today.

You give him far too much credit... Two brain cells?? If he had another brain cell, it would be lonely. :D
I shot down just about all his reasons for why he hates Mac's... With only a ns between reading and coming up with a retort... :D

I went and looked around, it seems it use to be a mac hate site, but has since changed - for the better.
The real purpose behind this site now is kind of an anti-advocacy site. I find that there are a number of Apple advocacy sites out there that are heavy on the hype and light on the facts. This is just my little poke back at them.

I seem to remember that back in the early days of Apple, when they were working to make the Mac, they wanted a system that even children could use. To make a system for the masses, not the people with CS degree's. Too bad they didn't do better in the early years to keep m$ out of things... If they had, m$ could be in the 5% market share instead of Apple... :D

well, I'll give you 'simpler life' but not more fun. I do 3D animation - you couldn't even begin to think of doing that on those machines, let alone movies. Nope, nostalgia is all well and good, but give me the future:D

It was more fun in context really, yet I am of the belief that through challenge comes innovation. I have made $$ for a long time using the mac (including 3D illustration and animation,) but when I look through my work, the old MacPaint stuff is easily among my favorites. It is so easy to be lazy these days, that I think people are getting lazy, creatively. If that is the result, I do not think that technological advances are a boon to us as creators, or as consumers.
Then again, I remember running Studio Pro through my 8500 with 3D accelerator cards for the first time. That was eye opening.
Or the first time I had a harddrive...
Or the first time I saw color on a mac...
Or the first time I cut video...
Or the first time... you get the picture.
It isn't the technology itself really, but how we use it, that I am nostolgic for.

well, i think you're talking more about being creative with limitations. I was much harder to come up with something that looked good with just 2 bits than it is today.
It all comes down to the fact that many people consider themselves artist because they can use powerpoint, and that's the biggest mistake they can make. It still takes talent to make 'good' art - and that won't change anytime soon.

Apparently these 10 reasons are the best this person could come up with
10) You can't use 5-1/4" floppy disks.
9) You can't go shopping with your friends for a Sound Blaster board because Macs don't need one.
8) Your 200 MHz 604e Mac does integer calculation equivalent to a 362 MHz Pentium Pro, but you can only brag about 200 MHz.
7) Networking a Mac is not an impressive feat.
6) Macs don't come in black, and we all know black cabinets make computers faster and louder.
5) You don't have to really learn the inner workings of your computer.
4) And the Mac mouse is too slow. We want our cursor to fly wildly off the screen when we twitch our wrist... because hyper cursors make our PCs look faster.
3) You just plug Macs in and they work. Where's the challenge in that?
2) When you add stuff, you just plug them in and they work, too. Again, no challenge.
..
And the number 1 reason...
1) Your clients and teachers know about 2 and 3, so they expect Mac users to deliver results, not excuses!
I love number 2 and 3. :D

True... as well as against the wall... I bet that m$ is the #1 reason why tech's burn out like they do. I am so ****ing glad that we only have about 40 peecee's at my location. We also have over 250 Mac systems. :D That's about 6 Mac's to every 1 peecee... :D
Someone should point out to those mooks that they cannot boot from utility cd's and run them completely. Where on the Mac, you can easily make a bootable cd and it works... on any Mac system too (provided you do it right).
