I just received my SL Up-to-date disc a few days ago and successfully installed it on my MBP. Could I give my disc to my roommate and the other people that want it?

Legally, no. Tell them to stop being cheap and buy their own copy.

No, but they could sue. They could also implement serial numbers and activations in future version because people take advantage like that.

they should have done this years ago. after all, if people are buying it legally, then they have nothing to worry about with those serial keys, right?

Right, but obviously, Apple hasn't seen it to be an issue, yet.

probably because they charge so much for their hardware. once enough of the osx86's start eating away from their sales, apple will be changing their attitude towards how things are done.
