Hello all,
I am going to be starting up college here in the next few weeks and thinking it is time to get a laptop. I currently have 24" Alu iMac and want to know about how much I can get for it, and where I could sell it for the maximum amount of money. I have all original documentation along with packaging box. It is very clean, and the only problem I had with it was when I first got it there was a string of about 5 stuck pixels, so I got the screen replaced, then with the new screen the fan speed was always on full blast (because the fan censor is built into the screen - and was broken)....so has been to the Genius Bar a total of 2 two times.
I got it about just under 2 years ago, here's the specs....
Model Identifier is iMac7,1
2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4MB L2 Cache
4GB Ram
500GB HDD
DL DVD Burner
Software:
Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard
Adobe Master Collection CS4
Aperture
iWork '09
iLife '09
Which brings me to my 2nd question....
I am wanting to get the new 17" MBP with a 3.06GHz processor. I see on the buyers guide that is half way through the 'expected' refresh....I want to know what would most likely be changed with the refresh...speed bumps? different look? etc etc. I am not wanting (needing) a laptop within a month, so I can hold out for another 3 months for a refresh if need be....but is it worth it?
I am also thinking of getting the 24" LED Cinema Display that "goes great" with the MBP's...what are your thoughts on it? How well does it perform? I know it would be the same as having an iMac because it is the same size and resolution so that is what draws me to it...so I can have both a laptop and basically a desktop as well, just want to know you all think about it.
Thank you all in advance :)
